Good Morning!

Nel, hope you get that appointment and some treatment that helps.

J22, that music sounds pretty good.  Hope you enjoyed it.  Gyros sounds good.

Working today and off the weekend.  It's Pride Weekend.  Not sure, what if anything I'm going to do.  It's the largest Pride in Florida and one of the largest in the Southeast.  Not sure I want to deal with it.  There's a mini-controvert brewing over them naming it "Tech Data Pride" after a corporation that gave a lot of money.  People are complaining that Pride has become too corporate.  I have mixed feeling as it's great to have corporate support and know who is supportive of equality, but ultimately don't approve the name change even though it's quite expensive to put on this event and they need the money.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning Tweety.  I have considered going to Chicago Pride but it's such a huge and crowded event going would not be practical unless I was staying at a hotel in the city

It's officially the first day of summer

Doing yet more utilization at work, though hopefully I will be done with all that before today is over.  And get back to my usual case management work next week

Grocery shopping and exercise last night

Not getting together with J tonight as he has to get ready for his trip. He was annoyed that his flight was cancelled and moved from Sat morning to Sunday, cutting his trip short by a day

Not much planned for tonight except for some cleaning

Weather will be warmer today and rain will hold off until the late evening.  By next week it should be in the 80s, which is more typical for this time of year.  Still a chance of rain most days

Happy Pride Weekend  Tweety and Joe!  I hope you enjoy whatever you do. A couple years ago I was talked into going to the West Hollywood Pride Parade and festival with friends I used to work with. They are really good and fun people. My daughter calls this one guy an "Instant Party".

As much as I like them I'm no good at a noon to whenever street party. It was so crowded. We had parked at a Metrorail station and took a train the last mile or so. When I realized my friends were planning to party until the bars closed I told them I would get home on my own. So I only stayed a few hours, enjoyed the parade, didn't have a drink, and left after lunch. Then took two trains to the stop nearest home and walked the three miles home while getting my steps in.

Today I plan to go to the nursery for a shrub to replace one that died in our front. It was easy to get the stump out because it was rotten.

Good Pride-day Afternoon!

No parades for me today. Thighs to knees complaining heartily. Guess when the "soonest possible appointment" is? July 18th at 9 AM. I hope someone will cancel their appt earlier than that and I can get plopped in their slot with the doc.

Nannie went to the eye-doctor and she has a prescription for new lenses, but for some weird reason she decided she didn't want to decide on frames; found out if she uses her (tee-hee) 90 year old eyeglasses frames 🤔 The lenses alone will be around $400 (!?!) but they will give her a good discount if she chooses their frames and they don't have to 'special-cut' lenses for the old frames. What she wants to do is to 'save money', but I don't understand why she says she's going to "wait about a month" to go back and decide then about old frames vs new frames. Nuthin' ain't gonna change in a month's time, but ours is not to reason why Nannie's brain synapses work the way they don't. So we just went the "Uh-huh" and "okay" route and resigned ourselves to hearing her say another 5,001 times, "I can see better without these glasses!" And we never say, "That's right, because it's an OLD prescription." Hubby will state it mo' nicely, "Anytime you want to go back and order your new glasses, we can do it...." // After her eye appt when they dialated her pupils, she was given, as is everyone, those roll-up dark glasses to wear for a while. She refused to go out to eat lunch as they had planned; didn't want anyone "seeing me like this."  🤪 And one more thing...if she gets new frames, God defend the person who DOESN'T notice, as she will be expecting  effusive compliments.

It's supposed to be 90 degrees today, but oddly enough, there is very little humidity. So while hubby and the pups and that Nannie person, each are napping...I am sitting out on the quiet of the side patio, in the shade. Ahhhhh!😊

Happy Pride Weekend!

Still cool and rainy here. it's been a miserable week weather wise.  Things are supposed to improve this weekend, with a predicted high of 87 on Sunday.  I am planning on spending the day at the beach.  Work has been very busy.  I suppose that's a good thing.  I'm taking some time off at the end of July.  It will be a stay-cation, but I will go over to Block Island for a day to see DD.  I will have to take some Dramamine to survive the 30 minute ferry ride.  I get horribly seasick with any waves at all.  I could never go on a cruise.

Tweety-I agree with you on the corporate naming of the parade.  It would be nice if companies would give just for the sake of giving, and not need their name plastered over everything.  It is good to have the support, though.

Joe-Hope the utilization work is done with soon.  Safe travels to J!

Herring-I like festivals, but I don't really like crowds.  I also don't like to stay up til all hours.  What kind of shrub did you end up getting?  Gad to hear your husband is feeling better.

Stars-I hope you enjoyed your quiet respite on the patio.  Maybe you should get Nannie some of those fake glasses with the nose and mustache attached, and tell her how wonderful she looks!

Hope all have a good start to the weekend!

🌟On the off chance that someone reading this is drinking some liquid, be advised to swallow your drink before continuing to read this post. It may or may not strike you as funny, but, well, you'll have to decide for yourself....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, we're all sitting in the shade of the patio, having our late afternoon cup of coffee, and Nannie says to my hubby, "What was it the eye doctor said about my eyes?" To which he responded:

"He said your eyes are so good, you could shoot a BB dead into the middle of a gnat's rectum at 300 yards, as long as you used a tripod to keep the BB gun steady.

🤔 Hmmm, now THAT'S a good shot!

That's too funny Stars.  Hope you can get an appoint sooner rather than later to see your doctor.

BC, busy is good.

Enjoy the weekend.

I'm weird in that I love crowds, but not always the bumper to bumper crowds at Pride or tourist attractions.

Hope you enjoy the weekend after a busy week BC.

Home after a busy 12 hour shift.  I was on one side with a tech with five patients, one admission and three discharges.  Kept me hopping.  Off for four days!
