Good morning!

Joe, hope work wasn't too crazy for you.  That's some kind of cold weather.

J22, I didn't think you were being snarky at all.  Good luck with everything. I had friends from Seattle that were like you. They ground their beans every morning but had several to choose from. Must be a thing from that part of the country. LOL

Night nurse I was giving report to was dull, she said it was because she hadn't had her coffee yet and didn't have time to get it.  There seems to be a whole generation of people that don't make coffee at home but buy it at Starbucks, 7-11 or Dunkin Donuts.

Stars, I can imagine mansplaining can be annoying.  ?

Work yesterday was 6:1, discharged three and got one admission.  They kept our census low because of being short staffed today so I was happy not to get three admissions like I had the day before.   I'm finding myself being angry at work again over staffing issues.  But it's not their fault Omicron is getting us.  Just angry in general.

Off today.  Have the sheets in the wash.  Need to go to get the dog's eye drops.  Their optho doc is about 30 minutes away and it's a chore to get.  Will do some meal prep and hopefully make it to the gym.

Dog was trying to get me up to feed him at 5:15 on my day off and I've been up since.  I swatted his little butt away. Not rewarding that behavior.

Tweety I'm sure you're not alone in being upset over understaffing.

NJ22 I didn't feel you were being snarky.  I grind coffee using Trader Joes beans

Stars sounds like a really productive day for you

Yesterday was a bit better at work, now that I'm adapting to the work around.  Still some backlog but it's nothing that needs to be done soon.  Coworker is back so that will help quite a bit.  Hoping today will be better still.  Have a short meeting that's supposed to share "good news".  Hope it is.

After work exercised and had our vestry meeting, which thankfully was shorter than usual

Supposed to meet J for dinner, but we'll see, the Augmentin is still bothering his stomach.  The good thing is that the doctor is going to prescribe something else that will  hopefully be less irritating.  The less than good thing is that the healing has gone slowly, and the doc wants an MRI of his toe to rule out  osteomylitis

Going to be a bit warmer today, in the 20s

The sky is overcast and it's cold! How's that for 'new' news! Since Nannie just said, "I'm glad this weather is all we've got today." ...meaning she had been anticipating the forecast she heard about last night (and remembered!). Anyway, due to her comment, I am guessing it will  probably rain or snow at some point this afternoon. Last night the late forecast was for "Not much" and "maybe a dusting" of snow.

I've been up for a little while but somehow have failed to get dressed, so here I sit in my so-called 'pajama's' and bathrobe. Guess I'll put on some clothes, and I'll be back later when I am not so embarrassing to look at---?

Ack, this has been a morning of chasing my tail and never catching it. I am following 2 patients in the hospital, trying to get things done from a TB stand point and getting no where. I am getting ping-ponged back and forth between a hospitalist (who is a real you-know-what) and our doctor who won't just call him instead of putting me in the middle. And another patient who we are trying to rule out for TB but somehow its too complicated to get specimens 8 hours apart. Bah! I feel terrible trying to call the nurses because I know they are incredibly busy, like Tweety.

Anyway, it looks like a nice day outside, I will go for a walk in a bit, trying to wolf down my lunch now. We are going out after work to take our departing supervisor to dinner. We are going to a little Italian place down the block from here. They say they have authentic Italian, and I know its delicious!

I used to get a coffee at 7-11 back when I was a student and had to leave at 0 dark thirty to drive to Seattle for class. I don't usually get prepared coffee at Starbucks, I just buy the beans in the store.

Grandson's great toe had osteomyelitis, but it is finally the same size as it's counterpart on the other foot. He was on cephalexin, that gave him gastric upset. But it finally seems to be healing.

Happy Friday!

Hello all!

A couple of busy days in Case Mgmt, especially Wednesday when office partner called off unexpectedly.  She was back on Thursday, and we took care of things I was unable to handle on Wed, without her.

I am gearing up for retirement, looking into the process and documents and etc and etc.  HR has a national portal we go to and fill out a bunch of things online, then submit.  THEN a "specialist" will be assigned to help through the process, 60 days from the intended date.  I can't absorb it all at once, need to take it in small doses.  But I did submit my intent date as 3/25/22 (end of month, end of pay period, as advised).  We'll see how it goes.  I just feel it's time.

It is WINDY today!  Temp probably 70 but WINDY!  I came straight home, didn't stop at the grocery store.  I stopped yesterday and found PEACHES in the produce section!  Of course, I had to get a few, just to try.  I hope they're not pithy, hate it when that happens.  But I do love a good peach (and even some grocery store-bought ones are good).

No plans for this weekend, especially if the wind continues.

Have a good evening!

Joe - J has my sympathies re Augmentin. Even the lowest dose rips my insides after a few doses. I found taking Bacid may help(?). We gave it in the NHs when starting ABTs. And the generics are freq less kind (like for j22's grandson).

8:30 PM

Hubby just called out: "Okay, girls, put on your heavy coats and mittens; it's time to go outside and build a snowman!" It has finally started snowing, small, stinging 'flakes'. We are at 29 degrees, though, and that is too freakin' cold IMHO!

8:50 PM... and now it is flurrying visible flakes, and there is a light dusting covering everything... maybe about 1/2". Temp is gonna get up into the 40's tomorrow, so we truly CAN know: "This, too, shall pass."
