I'm getting ready for bed. Watched a movie and then Chicago Med.
Had Pop Tarts with milk. (Bad bad nurse).
The snow is still a mess and we are expecting another storm.
Looking forward to a good night's sleep and then tomorrow I have a Grand Rounds regarding Parkinsons.
Other than that, should be a quiet day.
Back for coffee in the morning.
Hope you all are sleeping well.
G'day on Friday evening here in the land Down Under! :wavey:
CRIKEY! ... We had one heck of a storm last night .... lightning like something I've never seen before...and, I've seen lots in my years on planet earth! Heavy rain...high winds...thunder...it was Mother nature at her best!
Down side was we lost power and I couldn't sleep!
Summer storms are happening quite frequently here and it gets that one doesn't know if it's winter, summer, autumn or spring at times!!
Wishing everyone a fine Friday and No.... I WILL NOT be getting-up at 0200 to watch the live broadcast of TRUMP's Inauguration!
Yes, our two nations are allies.... but please! ...spare us anymore of seeing that individual on our (AUSSIE!) TV screens!!! :bored::wtf:
Be safe and well everyone!
Glad it's Friday! Going out with the crew for our annual "holiday party" that's funded by a couple of the ortho docs. I don't want to go, but promised a coworker that doesn't drive that I would go.
Unfortunately my patients will undoubtedly be watching the inauguration today. Having been on the losing side before, I've always recognized how this event represents American freedom and democracy but this is the first time I just can't stomach it. I do not like this man personally. I wish him well and hope he's successful as I have personal stakes at my age in his success. That's all I'll say about that. LOL
Morning Davey Grace Tweety
Work was better yesterday, hope it's the same today, though there might be an awful lot of discharges. Hoping next week, which will be a full week and everyone will be back at work, will be back to normal. Also, I asked for a day off for the convention in Feb so I should be pretty well set there.
Did the grocery shopping last night, thankfully I was able to find everything at my 2 usual stores and didn't have to go to a third. Also exercised for the first time in more than 3 weeks, have to slowly get back into that
Nothing much going on tonight, have to stop and get a card for my niece's birthday tomorrow, might wrap her gifts tonight or tomorrow. Will exercise and relax
Feeling sad, angry, what have you, today. I won't be watching the inauguration either. I'm sad for my country.
Still feeling phlegmmy, but going to have a CT today to make sure I do indeed have 2 kidneys and they're where they are supposed to be. Can't give one up if I don't have 2 to begin with! Then meeting my sister for lunch. I was planning on attending the Women's March in Boston tomorrow, but I'm going to work in Urgent Care for a colleague whose partner was just diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. The march is important to me, but so is doing a kindness for someone. I'll be there in spirit.
Hope all are safe, warm, and peaceful today.
Good morning all!
Am in the Stress Lab and doing some Case Management as well, today.
We have no plans for the weekend, which should be a rainy one, by all forecasts.
Not a time to go to Disneyland!
Well, I wouldn't mind but none of the musicians is out in the rain so one of our major draws is gone.
We would still walk (but it might be cold...).
I'm sure I can come up with a project to do at home.
It lightly rained last night and rain is forecast for most of today.
Tomorrow should be partly cloudy and low chance of rain but it returns on Sunday.
Oldest ds (27yo) has a UTI, is being appropriately medicated.
I'm sure he will feel better soon. No fever, just LBP.
He also made an appointment for a general physical (seems his BP was a little elevated).
You know I support keeping up!
Also, knowing CHF and heart issues are rampant in my side of the family, he needs to be followed.
time to get to work, see y'all later!
Didn't sleep so good last night, gotten in the bad habit of listening to NPR in bed, and then I just don't want to turn it off.
My co-worker and I are planning on attending a conference in Chicago in March, brrrrrr. I hope I can get back to the Art Institute while there, that place is amazing.
Finally finished my pink hat for tomorrow's march. I may not stay for all the speeches, but I want to show solidarity with the sisters.
I saw a picture of the Trumps this morning in the inter webs. Melania looked very nice, I wasn't even sure if she was going to be there. Wishing for a peaceful transition.
We have a new President. I pray he does well.
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing "America the Beautiful" was as beautiful as hoped.
Bless us all!
Had a quick trip to the next town in the snow to wire some $$ to my daughter in St. Louis. My husband had to drive me in his pickup due to the roads being so bad and my Kia not having the 4-wheel drive fixed.
We did watch the inauguration and saw a local young man in the front row. He's a West Point Cadet and that was so cool!
I was pleased with the whole inauguration festivities - the music, the clergy who spoke, etc.
I am not pleased at the violent protests. One I saw last night kicked me in the gut - a young boy started a fire and when interviewed said "I started the fire" and when asked why he said "Because I felt like it" and "Screw our president". Regardless of how I vote, if MY Spidey had done that, he would have been in big trouble with me.
There are violent protests going on in Washington where people are breaking windows and tossing garbage.
I have 3 nephews in the CHP who are on duty to protect citizens - one is in the Bay Area where there people are protesting by making a human chain. All well and good unless it turns violent. The children of my nephew who went to the Bay Area are scared although we've all tried to maintain a healthy and upbeat mindset for them.
Honestly, violence does not work in changing anyone's mind or having someone take a look at your POV.
So, I'm a bit sickened by that kind of stuff.
Time for the Grand Rounds on Parkinsons . . . will take my mind off this crap.
Me too.
