G'day.

What day is it?  I can hardly keep up.  I hate working three days in a row, but I did it to my self to get some extra money to offset the cost of my stove and SlowBros vet bills.  It's always something straining my finances but glad to have the opportunity during the slower summer months to get some hours.

I read recently the other big hospital in town is building a new 90 bed tower with all private rooms.  I'm sure it will be beautiful and they'll strain the nursing supply in town and probably take a lot of our nurses as they've been known to do.  Hope my employer responds with market pay raise adjustments.  This was the hospital I was considering interviewing with and  perhaps still will.

The dreaded Thursday was pretty dreadful but the admissions were balanced on both units and a charge capable nurse handled one side and I handled the other and it seemed to go smoothly, especially since a nurse came in to help 11-7.  Having proper staffing sure helps.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning!

Hi Tweety - It seems that you posted today's (Friday's) "Good Morning" thread in the U.S. Politics Forum. L O L!  😄😜

Curious, Tweety. Do you still have the "Administrative Tools" to move it back to the Daily Diary Forum? If not, hopefully a kind Moderator/Administrator can do the task.

I'll come back later to today's Good Morning post. 🙂

Morning

Another uneventul day at work

Did the remainder of the grocery shopping, had time to exercise and work on cross stitch.  Might stick with this split grocery shopping

Shouldn't be too busy a day at work.  Or after work, only errand I have it to return a library book

Weather has been pretty good, has only rained when I was at work.  Probably the same today.  Hasn't been too hot either

Morning Tweety and Ted and Joe and everyone to come.

Thread moved to the DD Club and other DD topic merged.

I didn't sleep well at all. My feet felt like someone was touching me with an electrical prod. L O L!

Have now overslept and had 2 sips of my java joe. Obviously I need more. 🙂

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday.

Good Morning. . . again! 🙂

Good Morning, and Thank You, sirI! Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight. Good Morning Tweety (again) and Joe! 🙂

Been up for a while. Just finished drinking 2nd coffee! Dang, it was delicious!

Today (tonight) is my second night of seven off from work. Yesterday was primarily a day of rest and recuperation. Tuesday and Wednesday nights at work were unusually busy. It was as if someone said the "Q" word! L O L! 😄 Wednesday night was especially busy because I basically floated between the ICU and Med/Surg floor. The Med/Surg unit lost a couple of night nurses (again) leaving it somewhat "understaffed". (It's difficult for me to write "understaffed" because nurses working for larger hospitals would LOVE to experience the patient/nurse ratios frequently found in our teeny-tiny hospital!) But at least I didn't have a patient assignment with all of the associated charting. Basically, I was everybody's "bytch", answering call-bells, emptying urinals, drawing labs, starting IVs, taking patients to the CT scan and administrating IV contrast (well, just for one patient), turning & repositioning, ensuring the "bottoms" of incontinent stool were clean and well-protected with skin creams, etc., etc. (Don't worry! I washed my hands after the wiping! L O L! 😄 ) In other words, it was a typical work-night for most regularly-sized hospitals! L O L! Actually, I had a good night, and didn't mind doing lots of tasks.

I wish the weather was nicer during my days off from work, though. I'd love to do some hiking or canoeing. But the weather forecast for the next several days calls for heat and humidity with intermittent thunder storms.  Blech! So, it seems I'll be spending much of the time indoors. On the plus side, I should be able to FINALLY finish video-editing the 7PM dance recital. I still have several more hours of editing to go (ensuring proper audio levels, color levels, etc.) I do enjoy doing this video-editing thing, though. I'm able to allow the "obsessive" side of my personality to flourish with sweet abandon! L O L! 😄

Nothing much going on. The only real plan that I have is to go with friends this Sunday afternoon to the theater and see Amy perform in the musical-comedy that she's in. The show got pretty good reviews, given the strife the performers had to endure under the leadership of an ill-prepared and inexperienced Director. Amy, especially, got great reviews from the local newspapers. (She knows what needs to be done to have a musical-comedy actually be a musical-comedy! 😉 ) Afterwards, we're all going out for dinner. Should be fun!

Well. . . gonna do some more video-editing. . .

Hope all have a nice day today! 🙂

Hi. I am so glad its Friday. I got home from work, ate a bowl of raisin bran and went to bed at 8 pm last night. Tonight we are going to the local fair with the grandsons. Will be the usual: check out the art display, especially the quilts, eat fair food, look at the mama sow with her new litter, laugh at the pygmy goats, more fair food, and some carnival rides. We are going to try to get one of those old timey photos with the fam. We did one several years ago when our kids were little. Eldest ds attached a copy with a family tree for a school project once and a teacher thought it was actual old family portrait.

My patients today either don't answer their phone or are no shows for appts. Hmm, maybe they went to the fair, too. Weather is supposed to be cooler, in the 70s.

Cheers

Hey y'all--

I went grocery-shopping early-ish this morning, got home and emptied all the trash, did all the laundry...so domestic.

Worst part was treating Pippy's blood-stains on my clothes prior to doing the wash. Also got a sympathy card from the Veterinarians office. sigh.

Nannie is explaining to us that her exo-cast is a gas pump. Yes, a gas pump! The gas comes out her thumb, it's plastic cap (to the 'lock') is where you see how much you have to pay, another part tells you how much gas you don't have. And there's no number on the cap, because that means she is full. Brother, oh boy, she is certainly full of something!

Well, there's 2 hours until the pre-game show (Braves Baseball) so I think I'll find something to do, maybe upstairs, just to get out of hearing range, Kind of get tired of the questions, like, "Where's Momma?"  I said, "Nannie, you are going to be 90 years old in one month; your mother has been gone quite some time now."

Also, a short while ago she was in the bathroom huffing and grunting for about 20 minutes, then she said, "Are you girls out there?" I said, "Just one of us!" (I'm still two people to her) She needed help because she couldn't figure out how to get some dry britches on. When I went in there she had stuck 3 pads together, one on top of the other, and crammed them into her crotch; they kind of stuck to her inner thighs and pubic hair....But I came to the rescue; got the right things on in the right sequence. She said she wished I'd come by every day. So I said I'd be here every day until she isn't.

Ah me, sirI, I hope your feet quit "zizzing" soon. Heck there's a lot of things I wish would quit zizzing, but your feet are at the top of my list. 😉
