Good Morning!

Thought I'd say a warm "Hello" before another day passes by. . .

Had a nice night off from work, last night. Mostly, I slept. L O L! But, yesterday was relaxing. Recently got a new addition to my camera set-up. It's an external recording monitor. It attaches to the camera by a special HDMI cable and provides a larger 7" display of what is being video-recorded. I don't have to wear reading glasses with the larger display! This device also records the video onto an SSD, which provides for longer recordings. This is a neat set-up which I plan on taking with me on our Ireland/Scotland trip. So, I spent the day, yesterday, "practicing" video-recording with this set-up. (I need a lot more practice! L O L!)

Today, Amy and I will be doing some grocery shopping together. The weather is supposed to be warm and very spring-like. So, we'll be going for one of our power-walks as well.

Work, the other night, was a nice steady-busy. Oddly, I've been less stressed going to work, lately. Work has been a somewhat welcomed diversion. It's weird, admittedly. Over the past couple of years, Dad's declining health has been a major source of stress. During these past couple of years, going to work seemed to augment that stress. Although I sorely miss my Father, I do not miss seeing his body and mind weaken. For good or for bad, having that one source of stress "a thing of the past" seems to make going to work more "normal" (stress-wise). Don't get me wrong. I'd retire NOW if I could!! But work is a reality of life. The bills must get paid. (And, there are more "toys" that I want to purchase!!) But if I HAVE TO go to work, I should at least feel At Peace with this fact of life. Gratefully, I feel "At Peace" with work, much more so now than these past couple of years.

I just finished drinking First Coffee.  Gonna go downstairs and pour me Second Coffee now.

I hope all is well with everyone. I'll be back later to read your posts.

Peace. . . 🙂

Ted

Ted my dad experienced something similar after my mom died, a sense of relief and even freedom after caring for her as she declined.  Glad to hear work helps bring you peace too

Work was fairly peaceful for me, despite most of the department being away at a conference.  Hopefully things will be peaceful today as well

Managed to get a walk in yesterday before the storms started.  Weather will be more variable for the next week or so, more rain and cooler, so it was nice to get outside.  Watched the SpaceX launch too

Weight loss seems to have plateaued, and only 2lb from my goal.  Might have to fast this week in order to push myself over the finish line.  Might have to make intermittent fasting a regular thing to help maintain the loss.

Meeting J tonight for dinner as usual.  He had his root canal yesterday, hopefully he'll be feeling well enough to go out tonight

Good morning.

Reading on my phone but wanted to say hello.

Had a great day in Osaka and tomorrow will visit Hiroshima.

Loving Japan but hate the food.  They eat too much seafood.  Bleh

Morning-

It's cold and gray here.  Spring will return tomorrow.  I'm tired today.  The insomnia bug has been hitting me for the last few nights.  I may have to increase the melatonin.

Ted-your camera set-up sounds very cool!  Can't wait to see your pics from your trip.  I know you miss your dad very much, and it's ok to feel that some stress has been lifted with his passing.  Take good care of yourself.

Joe-Isn't it annoying when you're so close to your weight goal, and you can't lose those last couple of pounds?  Hope J's root canal went well.

Tweety-I would love the food in Japan!  I could eat seafood every day.  Your pics have been great.  Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Herring-Hope you get lots of good stuff at the Farmer's Market.  I can't wait til they start up around here for the summer.

Take care, all.

Hello all.

I guess I would starve in Japan, Tweety, as I don't eat seafood.

It poured down rain here, early this morning. The sound woke me up.

No fitfull sleeping or bad dreams last night. I am surprised, as I am working tonight and dread it.

Who knows what horrors await; short staffing, belligerent patients, or maybe worse.

Hope all have a good day, and enjoy the weekend.

Not going to Farmer's Market as step-Mom's physician is going to make a house call and I want to be there.

My former Italian nurse friend is working part-time at my facility, on my unit.

He texted me today.

He will work nights, Tuesday and Thursday. So I will not work with him.

He is getting out of nursing. He is in pharmacy school, I guess, or taking prerequisites for pharmacy school.

My other nurse friend, got into an altercation with a part-time, float pool nurse, who arrived a half-hour late, complained to staffing office about the assignment, and was blasting music on her cell phone.

You are right. Nothing happened to that nurse. She called my friend stupid three times, and NM did nothing.

I told her to file grievance against the nurse at corporate level, for work place violence.

My friend said she felt threatened, as offending nurse also swore at her.

I know the float nurse she is talking about. She is very angry.

When she picks up a night shift on my unit, I don't engage her at all.

She is crazy.

Oh, I would fit right in there.  Love seafood.  I loved the food in Vietnam.  So glad I got to go twice.  Wish I could go again.

End of a good day.  Went to a celebration of Country Doc of the Year for a local physician.  It was really good.  Lots of stories and he shared a lot as well.  Great turn out.

I worked with him before I became a nurse and he taught me so much.

Spidey is home - they won both baseball games and he did very well pitching.

I'm headed to bed.  You all have a good night's sleep.
