Morning

Finally had a quiet day at work.  Was nice.  Next few days should be just as quiet, barring anything unexpected

Exercised and ran errands.  Today snow is expected today into tomorrow, will probably be heavy wet snow so I wanted to get errands done yesterday

Not much else planned for today, after work going to exercise and stay in, except to go out periodically to brush off the car

Good Morning!

Glad you had a quiet day at work Joe, we all deserve that.

Great pictures Herring.

Gone With The Wind has always been my favorite movie.  Saw it many times and had it on VCR tape.  But last time I watched it, I thought it rather cheesy.  Guess times and perspectives change.  But I'm sure I'll watch it again and again.

BC, glad you're getting a kitty.

Won only one game last night but somehow jumped up one place to 16th place.  Guess someone above us did worse.  A guy on the other team bowled 11 strikes in a row and said he got too nervous and then bowled a 6 for a whopping 296, near. perfect game.  Needless to say my team didn't win that game.

Off today unless I get called in, which is looking less likely.  I usually hear by now whether I'm needed.  Going to watch "Parasite" on Amazon with best friend.  It's 5.99 to stream.  A couple of weeks it was $3.99, guess winning the Oscar for best picture upped the price.  Still cheaper than two movie tickets.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all! I went to the gym this morning at 0500 and now I'm feeling good. No run today, just a 50 minute treadmill and it was leg day!

Tweety, my brother went vegan. He is a guy that, if you look up the term "meat sweats" his pic will show up. He's obese, but I think he lost about 20 pounds so far. You always have such great looking recipes, I may swipe some.

No Stars, You have a full plate. Geez. Yet, your humor is still there, intact. It will get you through.

I watched GWTW several times, and will continue to do so, but the book is SO MUCH better. Rhett is really fleshed out, as well as his friendship with Scarlett.

What are you all reading now? I am reading https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/34051011-pachinko

Just started it, but I'm digging it, so far.

Today I take mom to PT, and then I pre-ordered dinner. Pot roast.

I hope everyone has a good one!

Good Morning -

OK. . . I am confused. Am I missing something?!? Am I still sleeping and having a weird dream?!?  Today's thread is titled, "Fat Tuesday September 25, 2020", and I see Farawyn's post!!

Good to see you, "Farawyn"!! 🙂

I quickly checked yesterday's Daily Diary thread to see if I missed something there that might explain this Twilight Zone Happening. There, I see that it was nursej22's birthday. (Happy Belated Birthday, nursej22!! 🙂 ) I also quickly read yesterday's Daily Diary's posts. (Oops! Forgot to post here. Again.) But, I could not find anything that would explain today's title to be "Fat Tuesday, September 25, 2020". So, I'll just go with it. I AM feeling Fat!! Although it ain't September, it is one of my favorite months out of the year. Today IS the 25th, and it is the year 2020 (which is still weird to type and/or write out)!
L O L! 😄

Yesterday. . . when I FINALLY woke up at 1:00 PM, I did a whole bunch of chores. I finished filling out that mandatory post car-repair insurance form, and mailed it. I also filled out other forms and mailed them, too. (A friend requested that I fill out a form so that he can have a pistol permit. Apparently, in NY State, one needs to have character references to have a pistol.) After all of the chores were done, I went back to bed and slept some more. Yesterday, I felt like a ton of bricks hit me. I was really, really tired.

Of course, with all of the sleeping that I did yesterday, I was wide-awake and up most of the night, last night. Finally fell back to sleep around 4:00 AM, and recently woke up. . . again. . . around 8:45 AM, this morning.

I'm gonna tell you what I was doing at the wee-hours of the morning, this morning!

As I believe that I shared to you recently, Amy and I have these Firesticks from Amazon. They're attached to both of our television sets. Last night, I found these two apps that work specifically for the Firesticks that enable us to find almost ANY television program (old and new!!) Oh my gosh!! With one of these Firestick apps, I found, and started binge-watching, the "Drew Carey Show"!!! The Drew Carey Show is STILL one of my favorite sit-coms of all times. It's funny as all get-out, and can be quite absurd! (I LOVE absurd comedy!!) It is almost impossible to find this show, anywhere!! What is also cool is that we are that much closer to breaking away from DirecTV, which we've been having since we lived in our current home (for almost 15 years). DirecTV is expensive, and I would LOVE to totally break away from it! But because we live out in the middle of no-where, it was, and remains, the only way to get any kind of local television service. Unfortunately, I still have NOT found a Firestick App that can provide the local television stations that we use for news and weather. Those local television stations are important to us. So, it seems that we're be using the DirecTV services for a while. But, at least we can now watch the Drew Carey Show (and binge-watch other of our favorite shows, too!!)

Tonight is my 2nd night off from work. I work Wednesday and Thursday nights, then I'm off for the entire weekend.

Sunday night at work was "Q". (I got very little sleep Sunday, which explains why I was so tired yesterday.) Sadly, our full-time Shift Director was tired and asked to go home early. Our teeny-tiny ICU was "Q", so I was able to switch roles and did the Shift Director thing for half of the night. She looked so tired! I wish she'd get that kidney transplant sooner than later. (At this point, she keeps her job simply for the health insurance. I get it!! It's just so freakin' sad that she HAS to do this in order to, basically, keep alive. She's caught between a rock and a hard place.)

Well. . . I see that I just did a whole lot of typing. I hope all have a pleasant day. I'm going downstairs and get me Second Coffee!! Peace, folks! 🙂

Morning-

At work, meh.  I'm just not feeling motivated these days.  We had a gorgeous day yesterday and now it's back to clouds.  I really miss the sunshine in the winter.  I used my happy light this AM.  I should be more consistent with it.    Tonight I will go vote after work.  I love the early voting.  We only have 1 polling place in my town and it's a zoo on election day.   I will go the gym afterwards, if I don't talk myself out of it.

Joe-Glad work has been more manageable.  I hope you don't get a lot of snow.

Tweety-I want to see Parasite.  I'll eagerly await your review.

Far-I loved Pachinko.  I'm reading City of Girls right now.

Ted-We go back and forth all the time about getting rid of cable.  I would be fine without it, but Fiance won't let go.  maybe the Firestick would work for us.

Hi Siri!

Ok-gotta do something here to earn my paycheck.  Hope all are well.

It is so good to "read" you all. Nice sunny day here. The little rain cause the front grass to grow tall in just a few days. Glad I mowed when I did.

I slept well. Not sure what I plan to do today.

Ted, I'm glad all is right with the world for you.  I dropped cable and all TV service and get news and weather from the internet since I'm on it so much.  I take it in spurts though and am not always attended to the local news.  All the news stations and the newspaper have websites.

Far, I am in a bit of a rut with my cooking but doing okay and lost ten pounds since Christmas.  I hope your brother does well.  He would get amazing results if he does it the "right" way, meaning whole foods plant based, (ala Plant Strong, Forks Over Knives, etc.) and not a lot of processed vegan foods.

I'm reading "Hide", a book about an older gay couple in their 80's, one of whom has a stroke, and it goes back and forth between their life today and when they met in their early 20's after WWII when being who they were was criminal.  It's okay.    https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25651020-hide?from_search=true&qid=FdSVXJlRKy&rank=1

It's a good "Q" afternoon here, as Nannie fell asleep after her breakfast and her AM meds, and a timely application of The Magic Blanket.

Fifth possible caregiver is sick, 6th is working tomorrow. Hubby has been trying to get someone to come in for 4 hours on Wednesday so that I can accompany him to a new doctors appointment. (A "Lung-Guy") Could possibly bring Nannie along, but for her to sit by herself in an unfamiliar waiting room during his appt, well it is kind of scary to contemplate what she might do ... talk too much, get confused, leave? Uh-uh.

When hubby gets back from the store, I am going to make a call to an Eldercare Attorney to ask questions ...cost/fees....what specific papers to gather to bring with us to our preliminary appt.; how many appts does this process usually take? ETC.

Looks like I'm going to have to do a little more pushing and encouragement about hubby's much-needed participation. He needs to be edumacated regardless of how he feels about it. It's just NOT a matter of the house falling on Nannie and the Yellow Brick Road appearing at his feet. And what's that good ol' saying about doing the same thing and expecting different results? Yup, yup, yup. Or as Matthew McCouhnaghey (SP?) always says, "Alright, alright, alright."

Laydah, y'all ...
