Another White male proves yet again, why unfettered access to guns is a real problem in the USA.

Conspiracy theories pose a new domestic terrorism threat, according to a secret FBI document

  • The FBI warned in a previously unseen document obtained by Yahoo News that conspiracy theories pose a significant new domestic terrorism threat
  • The bureau went on to lay out several events in which individuals' belief in hoaxes and conspiracy theories led to or could have led to violence. They included the Tree of Life synagogue shooting, the Pizzagate conspiracy, and the QAnon conspiracy.
  • The FBI's assessment is noteworthy given the uptick in not just the number of conspiracy theories saturating the mainstream political sphere, but the ease with which they're spread.
  • A number of conspiracy theories — and the outlets that publish them — have even found their way into the White House.
  • President Donald Trump famously pushed the birther conspiracy alleging that Barack Obama was not born in the US; he and his allies claim he's the victim of a "deep state" plot to overthrow him; and he supported the "Spygate" conspiracy theory.
  • He is also cozy with right-wing and far-right media figures who have embraced conspiracy theories about mass shootings and the murder of the Democratic staffer Seth Rich.

Talk about conspiracy theories, herring, Trump is busy working on a new one, in case we go into recession.

From today's NY Times:

In Economic Warning Signals, Trump Sees Signs Of A Conspiracy

Of course, it is typical behavior for the 70+ year-old, with a mentality of an 8-year-old boy.

Nothing is ever the child's fault. It is always the fault of everybody else.

Sure.

Who are the poor souls who prop up and enable such behavior?

Please don't insult 8 year olds. He is more like a 2 or 3 year old who wants what he wants, and doesn't grasp that other people have thoughts or needs.

Oh, yes.

I read this weekend that 2-year-olds are inflexible and selfish.

So perhaps Trump is MORE like a 2-year-old than I realized.

Thanks for the valuable input.

In Economic Warning Signals, Trump Sees Signs of a Conspiracy

By Maggie Haberman Aug. 18, 2019

President Trump, confronting perhaps the most ominous economic signs of his time in office, has unleashed what is by now a familiar response: lashing out at what he believes is a conspiracy of forces arrayed against him.

He has insisted that his own handpicked Federal Reserve chair, Jerome H. Powell, is intentionally acting against him. He has said other countries, including allies, are working to hurt American economic interests. And he has accused the news media of trying to create a recession.

“The Fake News Media is doing everything they can to crash the economy because they think that will be bad for me and my re-election,” Mr. Trump tweeted last week. “The problem they have is that the economy is way too strong and we will soon be winning big on Trade, and everyone knows that, including China!”...

You must have the WaPo piece from about a week ago that explained how a recession wouldn’t be Trump’s fault.

Yes.

Thoughts and prayers offered by Pence, Abbott and others after the latest mass shooting in TX.

Who cares about their thoughts and prayers?

Thoughts and prayers, are apparently having NO effect.

And CNN has a story about how TX further weakened, already lax guns rules in the state, just hours after the last shooting.

TX has been the site of FOUR of the worst mass shootings.

So, hey, TX Republicans thought the answer to the gun problem is more guns.

Brilliant!

The NRA couldn't have done better.

The good people in TX need to organize and vote the morons OUT.
