I'm asking this out of hope..We all have that loved on that has passed on, and we want to believe that they can still see us, love us and comfort us, and even show us the way...Perhaps I am talking for myself, but there's been wayyyyy too many times in my life where strangers appear to me at the right place at the right time

My grandmom died in 2007, and before she died, she promised me that whenever I heard the song "My Wish" (by Rascall Flatts) that at that very moment, she'd be smiling at me, and blowing me a kiss....Now, whenever I hear the song I burst into tears, thinking about her promise...I have to admit that I do believe she's there when that song comes on..

In a more physical aspect, there have been countless times where people will step out infront of me, and guide me with their light in my darkest hour, and it'll turn out they are the answer to my prayers...I also can't help but wonder and even believe that they are sent down from somewhere up above...

Do you believe in angels? And if so, I really want to read your stories and thoughts!! Thank you for listening....Love you all:redbeathe

Here's a link to the song, "My Wish"...I hope it makes you think of your special angel smiling down on you....

no, but i believe that people's spirits live on as long as there is someone who remembers them. i wear my grandmother's jewelry and think of her every day, and now my grandchildren call me by the same name i called her. she will never be gone. :heartbeat

In answer to your question: yes, I do believe in angels.

I've had too many encounters in my 61 years not to.:redbeathe:)

I clicked on the link but a sign stated that it's "not available in your country due to copyright laws" or somesuch. :(

I googled the lyrics ... nice!

Some may say these encounters are purely coincidence.

I don't necessarily agree with that belief.

Certainly, on some occasions, yes, I'm sure they might be.

However, as I stated above, in my 61 years I've had too many experiences- and continue to have! - which cannot be simple coincidence.

Enjoy and embrace your experiences/encounters, and take comfort in the knowledge that if you feel something on a deep level, then it's much more than a coincidence.

Dunno, but I do know someone or something has watched over me all of my years. I guess I have been minded so I can continue my caring for those sick or injured.Example---last Saturday we held the annual Blessing of the Road here. Now, due to the big wet season we have had, the mossies are in plague numbers. Yet, whilst tne Blessing was on, there was not one mossie around!!!!

I know there are angels. Mine is named Melissa........she's the baby daughter I lost 28 years ago. I've always felt her presence, and it comforts me to believe that she's watching out for our family from Heaven. :saint:

In my church those who have gone before us are called saints. I know for me there is something I accept but do not understand. I would not call that angels but I do believe I am being cared for by some connectedness to Christ. That is close to how I was brought up. If calling those dearly departed saints is PC for my church I am OK with that. The words are not important to me. I know that as long as the person is remembered they live and help me to keep on. That by itself is protection in my world.

Yes, I believe in angels. I also believe they were created beings from the beginning of time and not the departed souls here on earth.

I've heard many different ideas about whether our loved ones even know what's going on with us down here. It doesn't bother me if they don't. I know I'll see them again someday and then we'll be together forever. So a few short years down here on earth won't matter.

There are lots of interesting ideas from funerals I've attended. One that bothered me is the child of a good friend of mine who died in a car accident. He was my oldest son's best friend. The pastor said the child's parents were part of a privileged few who would get to raise a child in heaven. First, a bazillion parents have lost children. Second, my understanding is when we get to heaven, we are enlightened souls and there is no need for parents to raise us and there is no marriage, etc.

I winced when he said that because I was standing with a woman who lost her son to drowning and then also lost twins at delivery. I looked around and saw many parents who had lost a child.

So . .. .yes to angels are special created beings. And yes to their hand in the human race at times with messages from God or interventions from God at times.

Yes, I believe in angels. In the opening of City of Angels, there is a scene where the angel places his hand on the shoulder of a tired air traffic controller to wake him up. I like to think that the angel(s) with me are like that.

I possess an intuition that has saved me many times. It can be a blessing or a curse because it never lets up. I like to believe that my 'intuition' is actually an angel who is guiding me to safety or steering me away from evil. The times I have not listened to my intuition have rarely turned out well for me. My friend, who was a cop, has asked me several times what my take on things are. He believes in my intuition that much. :smokin:

Weird, but kind of cool.

Yes, I believe in Angels. If I lived thru a harrowing experience, my mom used to say I used up my team of guardian angels and one had earned her gold wings and got to retire that day. Now both parents are deceased and visit me in their own ways. Dad likes to leave pennies for me, we once bought a puppy and he named it Penny because the logo on his shirt was 3 pennies. Penny was from a pet store and died within a week.I was like 6 yo.

Mom forever with her green thumb felt it was her destiny to breathe life back into any plant. Me I can grow most anything but once the plant has gotten old or is not blooming and blooming is it's job, I will dispose of them. Just before she died in 11/10 I had a Christmas cactus that had not bloomed in 2 yrs. I started to threw it out as I was just tired of looking at it. Mom made such a fuss. That DEC 24th it bloomed one beautiful fully opened bloom and the day before did not have any buds at all on it. On DEC 25th got a 2nd perfect bloom, then 2/14 the plant burst not full bloom. Dec 2011 it started to bloom 2 weeks before Christmas and lasted for 2 weeks past Christmas. And then there are the orchids, Mom loved them but even she could not get them to re-bloom after the initial bloom ended. But she kept them and when she moved her to live with me, they got a prized spot in the car. Did no better here till after she died. One of them shriveled up and I had no doubt it was dead, but cleaning out the pot and all was something I put off till the next day and they next day the orchid had 3 blooms on it. The same thing just happened 2 weeks ago.

Then there is my departed husband, Bobby, he said he would send rainbows to me and the kids, and he loved country music and promised he would be there with me whenever I heard one of the earlier hits, So many times I was upset and got inot the car and there was Alan Jackson singing about the Real World. And coming home from Memorial service the kids and I spotted a double rainbow, and they said they knew it was from him as it was not a complete rainbow and they knew Bobby's lack of ability to finish things! One very bad week I had in FL, I saw 3 rainbows in one day and then 5 in another day. I was like OKAY I get it. I was worrying about making decision to move and knew Bobby thought TN would suit me fine.

And this is not counting the many acts to help me from complete strangers.. thye are my Guardian angels and yep, I still go thru them pretty fast.

this topic befuddles me, as i just don't understand truly, what an angel is.

i have met hundreds of people throughout my life, that have *saved* me in one way or another.

of course there are those people who always eminate wholesome goodness and light...

and we as a people, tend to flock towards those types.

but i've also experienced incredible negativity, and still inevitably learned something virtuous and/or positive.

whether it is reason or randomness, i believe most of us are capable of simultaneously being teachers and students.

aren't the implications of that, upright and exemplary?

anything one learns, can and should be used to serve oneself and others.

these opportunities are fortuitous and abundant...

we just need to increase our consciousness and receptivity to circumstances present.

and so, angels are around us today and always.:twocents:

recognizing that, only serves to evolve us individually, and as a species.

random thoughts on a sunny saturday afternoon.:)

Great post, and I should've been more clear in my original post about what my definition of an angel is...I was just wondering that if and when a person dies, are they able to still "look down on us" maybe, or still be able to guide us through life I guess....

Thank you all for the great responeses!! Love you all:redbeathe
