As Nurses, we know the importance of disinfecting an area. Unfortunately, the White House and the U.S. Naval Observatory is a super spreader area of COVID 19. I question why no infection control specialist has demand that they begin to disinfect before President Biden and Vice President Harris moving into the White House and U.S. Naval Observatory and how long will it take to disinfect prior to the inauguration?
Nov 10, 2020 by Ted, BSN I was holding similar concerns. It seems that a peaceful transfer of power will not be taking place. It would seem that any plans to disinfect the White House and the U. S. Naval Observatory will not take place while Trump remains President. I hope that Biden, Harris, and their administrations will refrain from going into the White House until a thorough disinfection takes place. (I mean this quite literally. The figurative "disinfection", of what is left behind by Trump, will take place once Biden and Harris takes office.)
Nov 11, 2020 by Lucylu71 It seems fomites is not a very efficient transmission of the virus. So, JB and Kamala will just need to open a few windows for a couple of hours.

Yes, the CDC has clarified this that is spreads easily from person to person, and some people seem to spread it more easily and catch it more easily than others. So if Biden, is to remain science minded, going with the every-changing advice of scientists as we learn, a good cleaning perhaps, but a hazmat type disinfection really would be overkill. (It is interesting what conservatives choose to believe about the virus that's true and what they dismiss that's true.) https://www.livescience.com/cdc-coronavirus-surfaces-update.html Edited Nov 11, 2020 by Tweety

Or, by the crowds at bars and restaurants and increasing infection and hospitalization rates in my blue state.

Nov 15, 2020 by BCgradnurse I think a good, thorough, conventional cleaning will suffice. I would imagine that would be done regardless of Covid.
Nov 16, 2020 by Ted, BSN It seems that the Covid-19 virus will remain on certain surfaces longer than others. Here's an article that shares good information on this so that good decisions are made by all of us. . . https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/how-long-does-coronavirus-last
