I just learned that nurses get a 15% discount at the clothing store New York and Company- even on clearance! Does anyone have any other discounts to share? :)

Once (maybe it's twice) a year Barnes & Noble gives discounts to nurses. They also do it for teachers. It's usually not widely advertised, but it you're on the mailing list, you always get a notice.

Fantastic! Now, if I could only stop my care-plan-induced-face-stuffing then I could go buy some new clothes that I won't be able to wear because I am always writing care plans!

(sorry, it's been a long weekend!)

In Australia, members of the Royal College of Nursing get a huge range of discounts, generally 15% off cars, houses travel insurance clothing etc. Helps a lot.

Glen Ivy Spa in California offers a 15% discount for Admission or treatments for Nurses. They have it in Corona, La Brea and Valencia. Admission is free on your birthday. Check out their website: www.glenivy.com

I just went there on my birthday and I had a relaxing time. :)

Whaaat? I love that store! What do you do, just tell them you're a nurse, or do you have to show your RN card?

Yay! I love that store. How do we go about getting the discount? Show them our license?

I've probably said this a hundred times already, but since every nurse probably has a cell phone, it's worth it to remind people that just about all the phone companies have discounts for health care workers. They don't advertise or even tell you about it, however, if you ask, you can get anywhere from 10 - 25% discount (depending on the carrier) off the basic subscriber rate of your bill.

I'm going to act on this tidbit today. Thanks.
