Good Morning Davey Do and all who pop in,

Hope you all have a great day and for those who celebrate VD have a good ol' time. I try to celebrate every day so this VD really is just another day for me despite the fact my hubby surprised me with flowers but he does that during the year as well. I just feel blessed for getting another day to breathe and create mayhem. Hahahaha

Hubby has finished doing the backsplash in our kitchen, did the grouting yesterday, and I have to say it is wonderful. He will be painting cabinets once the weather warms up a little but I do love the kitchen and changes that are happening in our l'il home.

So tell me how are you all and what have you been up to?

I am still getting over my injury although I returned to work yesterday it was tough and I ended up leaving once I was done due to immense pain in my right arm. I am having our Med Director look at it today as I am concerned with this swollen painful area over the bone.

It was lovely getting back to work and catching up with my patients/ families whom I missed dreadfully.

Love that my bulbs are 'bulbing' out of the ground and I saw the most prettiest tree in full pink blossom. Oh how this warms my heart knowing nicer weather is on the way. I really need to get out and mow but not sure I can manage the ride on right now. LOL

Have a most excellent day no matter what you get up to.

    Much love to you all.

    Good Morning -

Happy Valentine's day to all! (Love the Hearts, Davey Do!)

Sabby_NC - It seems that the injury to your thumb is taking its time to heal. Sorry to read about this, Sabby. Glad to read that your kitchen renovation is going well, though!

    Currently drinking First Coffee. Yummy!

Right lower back is still achy. It's a pain in the butt! Just took Ibuprofen. . . a small handful. Just can't get comfortable.

Nothing much going on. Had a relaxing night off from work, last night. Watched more Star Trek - Voyager shows on Netflix. It's uncomfortable for me to sit for long periods of time so I didn't work on music yesterday like I hoped to do. Amy has been busy between her work, her on-line college thing, and the play rehearsals.

We got lots of snow, yesterday. The roads were well plowed, thankfully.

It's scary to read about the Oroville Dam in Northern California. I do hope that none of our happy Allnurses friends are in harm's way.

    Be safe, folks. . .

    G'day!

    Hi Davey!

Been called to jury duty today. Phone call revealed that half didn't have to report, but my half is called. I'll make the best of it, bring my phone and a book. I'll have a better attitude about this when I retire, or if they call me on a day I'm working so as not to take one or more of my days off for this. Bleh..... Still, I understand this is how democracy work and I'll do my civic duty with no more complaints.

In anticipation of losing today, yesterday I cleaned the bathrooms, dusted and did laundry and felt productive.

My bowling team had a winning night last night, taking 5 of 7 points. We're in 6th place.

Sabby, hope it's just a bruise and swelling on your arm and not an occult fracture of some sort. Glad you're back at work.

Ted, I must have missed something. Why is it uncomfortable for you to sit long periods.

    Everyone have a great day!

    !

Thanks Tweety- I am also concerned over this being an occult fracture that may have been missed but that sucker sure is painful with a horrid enlarged firm swelling around the sore area. Oh well it is what it is but will get it looked at today.

Hope your jury duty goes well. xx

Sabby and Ted hope you find some relief from your injuries.

Tweety hope you don't get end up on a jury

    Morning Davey

    Happy Valentines Day

Work was a bit busy yesterday but settled down by the end

Had a bit of a migraine, vanquished it with caffeine and was able to sleep last night in spite of that with the aid of some benadryl

Ran a few errands, didn't exercise as I didn't want to exacerbate the migraine

Weight loss has been slow, it's odd I'll lose a bit, gain a bit, lose a bit...it's going down but slowly

Tomorrow going out with J for a belated Valentine's celebration

Tweety & Sabby_NC - I pulled a muscle to my right lower back Friday night at work. The pain shot down my right leg. What was I doing?!? Putting on my freakin' scrub pants before the shift began! LOL!

Tweety - Let us know how the jury duty thing works out. (If you can, share what the case is, especially if it's interesting. ) Glad to read that your bowling team did well last night.

Joe - Hope your migraine is gone, buddy. Enjoy your Valentine's Day dinner with J tomorrow.

Hello to all who follows. . .

I'm on my 2nd cup of coffee and I bought some coconut creamer (low carb) but it doesn't taste as good as half & half (low carb too). So, I splashed some H&H in there.

Our hospital took 19 patients from evacuated hospitals; one is hospice. I'm very proud of the hard work our team did to make sure this was safely and quickly completed.

My nephew is still there with his CHP Special Team - something about "logistics". I'm proud of them too. I'm heartened every time I see people working together like this and keeps me in good spirits about people in general.

I'm back to work today. It was nice to have this weekend off - we take every 3rd weekend on call and the new nurse had this last weekend and her first hospice death (with us). She worked hospice before so it isn't anything new to her.

Spidey plays basketball (sorry to bore you ) . . . but I won't be able to go. I'm the on call nurse and I asked for last Friday afternoon to be off call 1.5 hours early to go to that game.

Sabby - glad you are having that owie looked at today! Let us know what they find.

Joe - hope the migraine stays away.

Tweety - I hope you don't get picked for jury duty. Ted is a curious fellow . . . wouldn't it be fun to be in a jury with him? You guys would have a great time dissecting all the evidence together.

Well, better get ready for work. I hope you all have a great day!

Ted: I hope your back feels better SOON. If it doesn't you'll have to go to the doctor.
I had to do that with my neck and shoulder pain and now have an appointment with a pediatrician.*

Sabby: Glad a doctor is looking at your hand. I hope it is better soon.

Hi Davey! Love that you are bring us your special talent.

Steph: People like your nephew are making it easier for the evacuees. I hope the got the overflows patched enough for the rains we will have so they can go home.
Then they need to do it right.

*Also did a residency in orthopedics

I'm going to say 'good morning' even though it is 1 PM. I've only been up for 2 hours, so it's still morning-ish to me.

Tweety, I got a summons for jury duty for the beginning of March. This is only the 2nd one I've gotten in all my years on earth; with the first one, when I called the phone line they gave to call the night before, my batch was excused. I am hoping that will be the case for this one as well. This may be TMI but a certain kind of 'urgency' unrelated to infection, merely to do with an aging sphincter, might make it difficult to fulfill a lengthy day amongst the other peers, as I might be unable to scoot to the restroom sooner than ASAP . However I have not been to a Uro or my PCP so I don't know that it will fly as a medical excuse. Mayhaps I should make an appointment . . .

So, Ted, I am not shilling for anyone, nor am I giving medical advice, however . . .I am absolutely SOLD on the effectiveness of Capsaicin pain relief patches. I would not believe the relief obtained by said patches until I tried them myself, out of pure desperation. Now I always keep some on hand at all times, just in case. I get them at a Big Box store starting with 'Wal-' which my step-dgt used to call "Mart-mart" when she was but a pipsqueak. The co. that manufactures them is Mentholatum, and they have "WELL-Patch" and "CAPSAICIN" on the front of the package. "ICY-HOT" patches are also good..their ingredient is Menthol 5 %. The things to know, also, is that the BigBox store-brand of icy-hot seems not to stick so well; but the good news is the all of these patches have NO ODOR, so you won't have a Ben-Gay scented cloud trailing you as you move through your day. There is also a Lidocaine patch available OTC but I didn't notice any appreciable difference with them.

Mods, if I did wrong by mentioning name brands etc, please let me know. I'm not sure whether I should have instead just sent a PM with this info. . .

Gosh-gosh-gosh, Sabby! OUCH! Glad someone will be checking it out for you!

Joe, my weight loss of 30 lbs has crept UP 20 lbs and boy am I disgusted and discouraged. What I need to do is get methodical about DOING what I already know to do, but don't stay with consistently.

Davey, I know the hand alphabet also, used to use it in high school instead of passing notes. A girl in my German class knew it and my locker-mate did also. Didn't have to worry about being 'caught' and being assigned to Detention.

Far'wyn, Davey 'loved' *me* once, too. Just sayin'.

Steph, I tried the coconut 'cream' in my coffee and didn't care for it at all. Ditto for all and any alternative sweeteners. So, I gave up putting cream in my coffee, but don't NOBODY take away my sugar!

herring, sorry to hear you have a pain in the neck. That kind of thing can get very wearing on a feller, I know. Those patches I told Ted about might give you some temporary relief also. . .

Well, since everybody else seems to be making appointments with doctors, I guess I'll stop here and go on the Patient Portal to make an appointment for myself. (Phooey.)

I have to have cream (Half & Half or full cream)! I also use the whipped cream out of those cans that spray very nicely into your mouth! LOL.
