  1. Good Morning!

Herring that's so cool that was your father on the Andy Griffith show.

I had a nice, albeit solo, day off yesterday. Got a lot done. Took a sleeping pill and it did it's trick.

Thanks for letting me vent about my work situation. I think I might be working with the one that wasn't speaking to me on Thursday. I'm working with the one who got demoted from doing charge nurse next Wednesday, if she doesn't quit before then, and I'm taking her spot in doing charge. That will be awkward, but I'm a professional and won't be drug into any drama. Talk about me all you want, gossip, stab me in the back, just take care of the patients and do your job and if you don't there's me to answer to. Otherwise, carry on with petty stuff and made up stuff. That's about you and not me anyway.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. It's my weekend to work.

Morning Tweety hope your upcoming shifts are drama free

Was a nice day yesterday, work wasn't bad, was fairly slow which was good, none of the craziness of the last few days

Met J at Outback, was nice but the food was only OK

Went to furry bowling last night, the farther of the two, as my friend T was down from Wisconsin to attend. T was planning to leave by 10 by ended up staying til midnight. I stayed too, was fun but tiring

Quite rainy today, going to Ikea to pick up a new sofa cover, will also see dad as usual. Not sure the protest march is going to work, given the rain expected today. We'll see I guess. The other furry bowling meet is tonight, if I'm not too tired I'll go but not stay long

    Good morning-

My Saturday to work, so I'm in the office. I plan to relax this afternoon when I get home, then we're going to see the Avett Brothers in concert tonight. Tomorrow we are going to look for a new mattress. Fiance and I have very different preferences. My back hurts if I sleep on anything soft, and he likes a super soft mattress. We found something on line where they can custom make a mattress with 2 different degrees of firmness, one on each side. The brand has excellent reviews and is reasonably priced. We're going to look at few other ones, but I bet we just end up with the custom one. My back hurts every day and I wake during the night with back pain. I slept on a thin hard mattress while in Guatemala and didn't have a hint of pain.

Tweety-Sorry about all the work drama. It seems very silly and unnecessary. Hope everyone (not including you) grows up a bit and gets over themselves. Joe-Glad you're out and about, seeing friends and having fun. I wonder if we'll be getting your rain later this week.

Hope all have a great weekend!

    Hi.

Step-Mom has decided to sekk he condo and move to an assisted living facility.
My sister and I are going to look at two today.
After sister showed her the finances she realized that the mortgage payments on the two bedroom condo. HOA dues, and caregivers so she doesn't fall are twice the cost of a bedroom in a place with 24/7 staff, meals, activities, and such.
I don't know her finances, but sister does.

Then I plan to read the Patterson/Clinton book. It is quite political, but definitely fiction.

I feel OK, but was awake a lot last night.

    Good morning.

Went to the farmer's market this morning. No blueberries! That was a major disappointment, but I got tomatoes, eggplant, green beans and peach bread.

I picked up half a shift tonight. It starts at 0100, and I HOPE I am NOT on my unit. I really need a break from all the cathing, q 2 turns, etc.

Had to pick up as I have $700 in vet bills to pay, and upcoming weekend in Boston. I am going to ENJOY that trip, and eat and drink, and eat and drink and purchase whatever I want.

I hope the work day is kind to you, Tweety. I purchased red lentil pasta at Kroger, and it is yummy. It has no sodium, and lots of flavor.

Isn't your dad playing on the Walton's theme, herring?

Hope your work day has ended, BC.

    Safe travels to all.

I had a relaxing day off yesterday: a little house work, a little gardening, a nap, eye check up (was able to avoid getting dilated for this year!) and then met both ds and met oldest's new puppy, for a beer and food truck food. And I started watching another British drama on Netflix: Broadchurch.

BCg, I prefer a firm mattress as well. I have sleep on memory foam in hotels and end up feeling trapped, and achy.

Nel, I would share my blueberries with you if I could! I need to go pick them again.

Joe, I used to like Outback, but feel like their standards have fallen off. I hope you can attend the protest; I find them to be quite energizing.

Herring, that is good news indeed that Step-mom was able to make that decision. I hope she will stick with it.

Tweety, sorry you are having to deal with so much drama, but you at least, seem to have your priorities straight. Quoting Dory, "Just keep swimming."

Off to play in the dirt!

    Good morning all!

Tweety, hope your shift is free of drama and everyone pulls their weight without you having to chase them and sit on them.

J, we haven't eaten at an Outback for awhile, may have to try it again to see if ours in our area has lowered standards or is still good.
I bought two replacement sofa covers last weekend too!
We need to get rid of these sofas (actually a sofa and a loveseat) but with our cats, dh is wanting a park bench, so they won't scratch it!!
Well, needless to say, we are still in negotiations about THAT.
So for now (sofa now??? ) we use the covers.

BC, good luck mattress-hunting! Hope the one you are considering works out.
Enjoy the concert! I looked them up, I think I would like them (have to hear the music first; if it's too loud and too much rock, no thanks!).

herring, sounds like a smart move for your step-mom. Hope you and your sis and her can locate a place that fills the bill (in all senses of the word).
I really enjoy hearing the pieces your dad played!

Lil Nel, hope the half-shift goes smoothly and you are NOT on "your" unit.
I would be looking forward to the Boston trip too! ENJOY!!

nurseJ22, ooooooooo, thanks for the recommendation for another British drama! Will check it out!

We had a good practice last night, and have tentative plans to go to the Thai restaurant again, to hear our friends play.
It is too hot outside to spend much time there.
The cats are happy we are around.

    Have a good day!

I got my laptop charger at 8:00pm last night. I didn't really spend that much time on my computer it was just the idea of not being able to use it. Kind of like when you forget to put on your watch--it drives me crazy not to have one on but yet I probably only look at it once or twice a day.

Joe, I've heard you refer to furry bowling before and assumed it was referring to using some kind of furry ball. I finally googled it. Is this where you go to bowl dressed up in a costume? If so, what costume do you wear? Is the point just to be silly?

nurseJ22, I'm with you on the foam mattresses in the hotels, especially if it is a king size bed. I feel like I have to climb to get out of them.

Hopefully today I'll finish the cleaning I started yesterday when I was bored without my laptop.

I just lost my 2nd post, both were long (natch) and both addressed each of you individually. And The "N" word ("Nannie") was not mentioned AT ALL in either post! GADS!
    *sigh*
I might try later, also sans MiL.

Oh, BOOOOO! I just got to the end of my post and *BLIP*, it went away. Sigh and try again: OMG,OMG,OMG!!!! I just somehow retrieved this post. Gonna post RIGHT NOW!

Tweety, that was a great manifesto about your co-workers, the part beginning with "I am a professional ..." I have a hysterically funny manifesto I wrote while working with that [un-named] agency. It has all the fifty-cent and one-dollar words I could find in Roget's Thesaurus! I'll have to dig it out and print it here. Reading it makes someone sound like Daffy Duck throwing a hissy-fit!

Joe, Haven't researched this yet, but I feel sure there may be some Furries in this area. Hmmmm.

BCg, I also prefer a harder mattress. With the Memory Foam mattress, it doesn't want to let go of the 'memory' as you are having to lift your body up out of the imprint of your former sleeping position, in order to turn over; it is TERRIBLE, as is the sweat generated betwixt self and mattress. Same with waterbed, even the kind that have baffles in the mattress to prevent sloshing. UGH.

herring, seems to me I once knew about your dad on Andy Griffin's show and the Walton's theme, but had forgotten. You have such a neat history you pass along to us; frequently makes me smile. Sometimes makes me think.

Nel, What? No BLUB-erries at The Farmer's Market? That. is. not. right! They are my favorites, with raspberries in the #2 spot. I fervently hope you don't have to fill in on your own unit tonight! When you are in Boston, say hello for me, and wave across the Charles River at Cambridge, which used to be my own stomping grounds during the '70"s.

j22, Sounds like a good day yesterday. Are you making mudpies for supper tonight?

dianah, I still laugh when I think of how I mis-took your hubby's beard for a neck brace!

H'lo dlu, you posted while I was carrying on and on.

    "See" y'en's later!

It's mostly a social gathering for fans of anthropomorphic animals. Most people there are like myself, typical nerds who also enjoy science fiction, fantasy, etc....I do have a german shepherd costume though I dont always wear it. Most people don't have costumes, they tend to be expensive and require a lot of maintenance
