    Good morning!

I don't want it to be 1917-no central heating and no snowblowers! We got more snow last night and it's very windy right now. SO was a love and dug my car out for me. This was especially nice considering he got a nasty laceration to his thumb last night. He apparently wasn't listening when I told him you HAVE to use the safety guard when slicing potatoes on the mandoline. Weather was too nasty to drive to Urgent Care for sutures, so I superglued the lac closed. The scalloped potatoes were really good, LOL.

Off to work in a bit. Hope all stay safe, dry, and warm. Thinking of those in N. California who have been evacuated due to flooding.

    Morning Davey and BC

    Back to work

Yesterday was nice, saw J for the first time in a week, went out to eat, and he got me chocolate covered strawberries for Valentines. We talked and decided we'd stay at his place next weekend rather than going to a hotel for our belated Valentines celebration.

Came home and made a new crock pot recipe. Decided to do the laundry too

Weather has been fairly warm lately, which is nice and helped my mood

Going to ask for another day off for that convention in 2 weeks. Decided I don't want to come back and rush to get things done before work. Also I think I really need more time away from this place

Morning, too dark to tell if its good yet,

Off to work soon, yawn. Watched the grandsons last night so that DD could do a free lance job. They watched "Finding Nemo" while I played with the lab/collie mix puppy. I had forgotten how sharp puppy teeth can be.

I have to see if I can get to the dealership today. Its seems minor, but I can't get my car's clock to reset. Its 12 hours and 15 minutes off, and really beginning to bug me!

I am glad it isn't 1917 either, the US was about to enter a great war, oh, wait...

Not quite getting the cartoon. Maybe I need some grease myself to get it.

I've learned my lesson the hard way and once only with a mandolin cut.

Just got back from yoga. Will potter about and take a nap. Bowling tonight. Jury duty tomorrow.

    Good morning.

My nephew did get called out to help with the Special Response Team with the CHP. He left late yesterday afternoon. So many folks are helping with the evacuation. RV parks are offering spaces, hotels, churches, individual families. The water is being released quickly so the level can go down and the emergency spillway will no longer be in use . . .and they can see about trying to fix it. However, we've got more rain storms coming off the Pacific and this will be a tough situation.

It is odd to have Monday's off now . . . my schedule changed when the other nurse retired and I took her spot so I could quit working in outpatient and just be hospice and have insurance.

Oh, hey . . . Davey insinuated on the cartoon thread that my stories about Spidey are boring but y'all would tell me that, right????

I have to get my grandson's present off in the mail and then I'm going to the gym and walk to a local waterfall.

You all have a great day.

    Good morning!
Interesting story about a 100 year old crime:
Cops tried to pin blame on victim in 1917 Manhattan disappearance - NY Daily News

I'm praying the overflow or spillway lasts so people's homes are not damages. Glad they got out and hope it turns out to be "Just a precaution."

Yesterday I was two hours early to the sing along. The most recent email I had was that it would start at noon. I drove to about a mile away, where there is free Sunday parking without time limits, and walked to the synagogue. Only my friend Ruth was there.
The announcement of the time change to 2:00 pm was made on their Facebook page so I didn't see it. I got to help her move furniture and set up chairs.

It was a good thing because the reason for the event was our friend George was in town staying a couple nights in LA before flying to Australia for a concert tour.
He likes the chairs in a circle so we can all see each other.
George is the one with long hair. He lives near Ted and entertains at VA hospitals, nursing homes, and psychiatric hospitals. We had fun!

I hrard George and Ric in 2013 in Burband when they did the Almanac Tour in 2013. The did "A Worried Man" the too, but it is not on YouTube. Lots of friends from the hoots were there.

Afternoon, all! Work is the same. Enough about that. It is windy as all get out around here- the tree in my front yard lost a decent sized branch. Fortunately didn't do any damage to anything that I know of. I think all of my patio furniture is still there.

Trying to save some money and eat healthier this week- I picked up some fruit and granola bars to pack for a morning snack instead of getting a sugar high with a flavored non-coffee drink and packing lunch instead of buying in the cafeteria. For a hospital, the cafeteria sure does serve some unhealthy food.

    Yes, yes it is.

I'm celebrating by saving money that otherwise would have been spent if I were part of a couple! (Yeah, that little thing with the surgeon's bro didn't work out.)

Today is my late aunt's birthday. She was an amazing woman who has been gone for many years. She was a nurse. From the time I was three I told people I would grow up to be a nurse. That was because of Aunt J.

Today is gray but not too cold. I had a bad night and slept little. I had the Oroville dam/flood threat on my mind. Sometimes I have to step away from the news...
