Libertarian here. Currently in Massachusetts, where the blind lead the blind off the cliff into a sea of emotion, completely devoid of any logical thought. The knee jerk is the dance of choice here when it comes to legislation.

All this being said, ACA is an enormous mistake, one that the end user will pay dearly for in the long run.

PMFB-RN,

Yes, I asked my physicians this. I wouldn't expect anyone else to know. And yes, they knew...approximately, which was good enough for me. One time I refused a drug as too expensive, but the doctor got the drug company to pay.

I wouldn't buy a car, or an article of clothing, or an airline ticket without knowing what is was going to cost. Why should I buy medical care without finding out the cost? I did not have insurance. I NEEDED to know.

Ya I get your need to know. I am just suprised that your doctor had the slightes idea what things cost.

I agree, however what we really should have, a single payers system, was politicaly impossible at the time.

I'm not alright with anything socialized, but I do agree, ACA is useless and we will all suffer because of incompetent hacks in DC.

As for single payer, ask a Canadian the wait time for elective surgery. Our tone will change quickly, I assure you. Hopefully it will never be politically viable.

This is like saying nobody can build a good car. Want proof? Look at the Ford Pinto and the Yugo. Having been both a nurse in two and a patient in three different singler payer systems, two of them run by the federal government, I know they can deliver very high qualiety care.

You may be a Libertarian- but I'm curious if you voted for Romney, the founder of Obamacare?

I had a Yugo- it was the very first new car I ever bought! It was a real blast- until a towtruck ran over it. I still miss it...

Do you remeber the old Yugo car joke?

How do you double the value of a Yugo?

You fill it with gas.

For those who are wondering what we are talking about you can see a Yugo in action if you rent the old Dragnet movie.

Is Conservatism compatible with nursing? (HINT: This is an oxymoron, not a real question).

Since most nurses are well educated and have good critical thinking skills, probably not.

I voted Gary Johnson. I'm a registered libertarian, I don't compromise.

Lol. You voted Obama right?

Thus, your point is null.
