I hope this is ok.

As nurses, we want to do what we can to help our patients. Sometimes though, we need to help our families.

I have a cousin who recently became widower at a young age- his wife had terminal cancer. He has three children; boys ages eight and three and a girl aged four. We've been helping with childcare, meals, and everyday essentials; however, this is his first Christmas as a single parent and he has no idea what to do.

Neither do I....My children are grown- I can only guess as to what are currently popular gifts for little ones.

Those of you that have children these ages.... what do you suggest?

Ask the children what they want? What's popular isn't always what is wished for.

Age 4 girl, anything "Frozen" or Disney princess. Boys, spider man, bat man still popular.

Legos work for everyone. Uno is a great game for age 8.

best wishes from,

wannabe "grandma" and terrific "great auntie"
