Oh yea, the jury peeps were asleep with their peepers OPEN (during the trials). Casey will soon be saying: Hello 20/20? It's too bad that Oprah is not doing interviews anymore. She woulda been the first one to get first dibs on Casey. America is going to watch, while Casey walks laughing all the way to the bank! She didn't even have to do a 'reality show' (not yet), to make the $$.

Travesty is the word that comes to mind to me. She will certainly be making the rounds of the talk shows and tabloids now. Scary thought - the jury just handed a sociopath proof that she really is above the law.

How do they explain away Caylee's hair strand, with post mortem root banding, that was found in Casey's trunk?

There is a lot going on in the world.

Good we can be doing.

Stopping injustice.

Little children are dying for lack of health care. Being accidentally shot and killed. Hit by cars, drowning in swimming pools. Last weekend so very many local kids suffered terrible burns from illegal fireworks. A little girl lost the sight in an eye. A 5 year old boy was molested in the mens room of a public park while his mother waited outside the door.

Yet the news media has this one case 24/7.

Yet the news media has this one case 24/7.

Good point.

The news media here covers a lot of baby/kid drownings. It's a weekly occurrence and it outrages me more than this case. But then again, I feel like those parents should also be charged and it not just passed off as a "horrible tragedy". But that's a whole 'nother topic than this thread here and one that irks me beyond belief

personally, i'd be satisfied to see this psychotic ***** 'fixed', so she could no longer have children.

the prosecution really let us all down.

I prefer to call it a legal system, not a justice system. It is a system of laws which the lawyers use and manipulate. We hope the end result is justice but the main guiding force is to try to prevent injustice.

It is hard for me to comprehend that she was not guilty of neglect for failing to report her child missing but I wasn't in the court and didn't hear the tales that her lawyer spun to cast doubt. At this point I'd love to see her boycotted by the talk shows. She should not get a penny for her story. Maybe we can start a movement that will threaten to boycott any network or show that interviews her.

A jury should have 3 verdicts to chose from, guilty, not guilty, and not proven. And 'not proven' should negate the double jeopardy rule.

After the verdict, here is one of the defense attorneys gloating by flipping off the media.

ah, but there is doubt. because there is no evidence besides circumstantial stuff that means nothing regarding murder or manslaughter.

this jury did what a jury is supposed to do . . . . look at a case and the defendant as innocent until the prosecution proves their case. and if there is a reasonable doubt, you can't convict.

our system is the best - even when things like this happen.

the prosecution needed more proof. the jury did what it could in this case.

i am not saying casey is innocent and neither is the jury - they just said "not guilty" because there just wasn't evidence to prove anything except casey is not the best mom.

but lots of moms aren't the best mom - that doesn't equal murder.

we simply have to abide by our constitution and the laws regarding a jury trial by our peers.

i should've been more specific with my comment: "she's guilty, no doubt about that-in my mind" ;)

Hubby sez, "Well, that child didn't tape her own mouth, nose, and eyes, hop into and tie off the trash bag and throw herself in that dump site on her own!" Myself, I can't get over not reporting her child missing ....And she never would have, except that her mother, Cindy, called the cops! And what was with all those computer searches?!?! Then concocting that string of atrocious, elaborate lies to so many people! It is ssooooo sickening. Caylee's whole family tried to shuck her off, ( how's that for loving.) But America can't and won't dispose of Caylee so easily. Well, what goes around comes around. I don't think this is the end of things

Juror #4 was just on AbcNews (Primetime Nightline) just now. Jennifer For* is her name and she commented on the remains of Caylee in bags found at the swamp. She also commented on the actions that Casey took. She mentioned something that Casey might have had a mental condition or something? I missed that one, I had to get some orange juice. Anyway, she said that the prosecution never "proved" the case. The evidence was not enough (she said). She also said -- I never said that, Casey was innocent. Now, I heard earlier (from CNN) that #4 is a nursing student in her '30's. I thought that nursing students are generally smart? I guess she needed a videotape to show her EXACTLY how Caylee was murdered by her mother! What kind of jury was this? They could've given Casey a 2nd or a 3rd degree! Both sides were better off choosing homeless people (for jury work) who were drunk/high on something WHILE THEY WERE IN TRIAL.

if she isn't guilty then neither is scott peterson(another disgusting human being). that jury had an undetermined death and saw his behavior as strange.

This jury didn't seem to understand what circumstantial means and that opening statement is not evidence. Obviously if mom helped the police and they were able to find Caylee earlier then we would know how she died, that is why she sent them in circles. The jury also could have easily have given the aggravated manslaughter which is negligence that results in a death, does not have to include intent. They went with the idea of 1st degree or nothing
