Just wondering if any suggestions/ input / advice regarding working in Seattle as an RN full time and still comes home to Vancouver on days off. Anyone who is doing it, had done it etc. Regarding Taxation and will TN visa be affected if NAFTA agreement cease to exist.
Jul 3, 2018 by nursej22, MSN, RN I can't imagine how much it would cost to have a place to stay in Seattle and maintain a home in Vancouver. And I have had days that took 4 hours to drive 100 miles due to Seattle traffic. I know a nurse who used to live in Bellingham to work but returned to his s/o in Burnaby on days off, but rent was much cheaper then. NAFTA involves trade, not work visas. That being said, it is hard to predict what the current administration may roll out at anytime.
Jul 7, 2018 by azhiker96 I would expect that RN would pay US federal and state taxes on the income and then may pay additional Canadian taxes as well depending on their tax laws. It would be best to check with someone familiar with Canadian tax laws to see how they would treat the income.
