I want to be an RN, I've done so much research and I'm sure it's the perfect job for me. I'm just wondering if I can do that while having my cats. It seems like it would be fine considering that I've left my two cats for a week with lots of food and water and they've been completely fine. From what I know, nursing is 4 12 hour shifts a week, meaning I'd be able to come home and give them what they need just fine. Cats also don't typically have a lot of health problems either, hence why they live so long. I am just wondering from a nurse's experience, have you had challenges having a cat as a nurse
Jan 9, 2018 by pixierose Well, I have kids as well as a cat. Everyone has survived so far. I don't think the cat even notices I'm gone. My teens, they notice. Most of the time. I'm not sure you have much to worry about. Then again, I'm more of a dog person ...

Jan 9, 2018 by pixierose Nobody should have cats. I think it's pretty much widely understood that they're evil, stealing a babe's breath as they sleep and eating you as soon as they're able. Dogs, though ... everyone should have a dog.

Jan 9, 2018 by brownbook I just spewed water all over my keyboard. I don't even care if this post is a troll, I love it. Honestly I thought it was going to be about patients being allergic to cats, and the poster was worried about having cat hairs on her clothing. I am so gullible. My cat even broke my cell phone, sad but true, too long a story to post here. I had to go to therapy afterwards. :(.

Probably figuring out the best way to trip you. Then you couldn't call for help. Then the cat would eat you. A dog wouldn't break your phone.
Jan 9, 2018 by ruby_jane A dog wouldn't break your phone. Or if the dog broke/chewed/peed on the phone the dog would at least look remorseful...
