Dear Daughter! I first learned these way back when Compuserve was still around. I was part of a Quilting and Sewing Forum and those ladies in their 70s were all about the "DH" and the "flame" and the "hack" and the "kluge" - it was very impressive.

What's a kluge?

:eek:You don't know what a kluge is?

OMG, you must try them.

I hear they are best with a little butter and garlic, but some people BBQ them.

And you can use them as book ends if they go bad.

LOL. I'm not in love with them either, but have a few memorized. BTW, I think there is a place that has them all listed. IMO, they should be banned. I don't think the OP had any of them, TC did a nice job of avoiding them. For simple D2D texts and emails they are fine, but AN, we shouldn't use them. Just give your post a little TLC and thought, and you'll find the words flowing from you. I mean, WTH, what do people see in them anyway? It's really NP to just say what you mean anyway. IDK, maybe I take this stuff too serious, but these acronyms get me PO'd.

TTYL BFF and TY for your time.

TY 4 making me LOL! I needed that!

During my last job, I was able to witness and GN being evaluated by a preceptor. The preceptor did not want to pass this poor girl because she was fat. Complaining about her sweating, " unable to go through doors", and actually concerned if she can move fast enough in the ICU. I already knew that I worked with a bunch of monsters, but this one made me very afraid.

Also worked with a nurse who was pregnant, and smoked atleast three times a shift. I actually had to wonder if she was ignorant of what she is doing to her baby, who will have a direct impact on her future, or she simply did not care.

i'm not convinced this is about any type of prejudice.

whether it's a handicap or any other type of physical limitation, there are times that we all have to 'hustle' in nursing.

yes? no?

Can't get my mom on the computer at all. She says, "I've lived for 73 years w/o it, so why start now?" My dad, on the other hand, it always on. He even has a facebook page!:yeah:

This is how it is with my parents. Dads just turn into the little gossip girls don't they! I swear my dad and his "homies" -I call them, get together to go out to dinner twice a month. Once with wives in tow and once without, LOL!!!!!! They call/email each other to figure out where to go and it takes like 10 calls all back and forth like 16 year olds getting together to go to the mall!:lol2:
