I was reading through some Past Threads when I stumbled upon one that made me Laugh Out Loud, submitted in December of 2011 by my Ol' Bud Kolohe:

A friend of mine on FB posted these Christmas songs and I immediately thought of "Double D" and this thread. Just for the record, I thought of Davey Do because he has witnessed all these neurosis, not because he has exhibited all of them (he hasn't exhibited ALL of them; probably about a third of them though. :D )

CHRISTMAS CAROLS FOR THE DISTURBED ~

1. Schizophrenia --- Do You Hear What I Hear?

2. Multiple Personality Disorder --- We Three Kings Disoriented Are

3. Dementia --- I Think I'll be Home for Christmas

4. Narcissistic --- Hark the Herald Angels Sing About Me

5. Manic --- Deck the Halls and Walls and House... and Lawn and Streets and Stores and Office and Town and Cars and Buses and Trucks and... Trees and.....

6. Paranoid --- Santa Claus is Coming to Town to Get Me

7. Borderline Personality Disorder --- Thoughts of Roasting on an Open Fire

8. Personality Disorder --- You Better Watch Out, I'm Gonna Cry, I'm Gonna Pout, Maybe I'll Tell You Why

9. Attention Deficit Disorder --- Silent night, Holy oooh look at the Froggy - can I have a chocolate, why is France so far away?

10. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder --- Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells...

I thought, "What the Hey? Why not Gather up some Great Posts of the Past and Assemble Them into a Thread?"

Feel Free to do the Same, or Whatever, if you Like.

Here's a "Blast from the Past" -

It's over 11+ years old. Gotta click on the link. In the first post you'll find a link to a WMV file. The video is what I'm sharing here. :)

It's interesting how so much has changed in the past 12 years. Back then, people were open to the idea of sharing pictures of themselves, which they did for this video. Lots of members have come and gone since them. Still, this web-site remains an important internet hang-out for many. This video was created with much enthusiasm. Back then, it was kind of a big deal for those who shared their photos and for me in putting it together (complete with original music). Web-site technology and video-editing technology was just beginning to mature and become popular. Joining a web-based community outside of internet places like AOL was relatively new. Allnurses, itself, was relatively new. I re-visited this video about 2 years ago. The video itself looks kind of dated. Surely the technology in creating it is dated. But it sure does bring back lots of memories of old internet friends and a whole lot of silliness! What's nice about Allnurses today, in the year 2014, is that the silliness continues. Sweet! Hope you enjoy this old, old video, and I hope you reconginze some very friendly faces.

Brings back lots of fond memories.

Very Cool, Ted!

I'm at my Work Station, so I didn't get any Audio, but very very cool, still!

Definitely a Piece of Art for the Archives!

Thanks for Sharing!

Can't see it. Don't remember this at all - but then sometimes I come across threads where I've responded and I have no memory of that response. :wacky: Early-onset dementia? Did I send Ted a photo? I have no idea.

I dunno . . . when I first started here I just lurked. There was a huge conflagration going on with members . . .. we've had a few but none in the last few years at all. Thank goodness.

Good idea for a thread Mr Davey(Can)Do.

When I have time and I am on my computer (not my phone) I will find some fun posts I have enjoyed here.

In the meantime, the threads I have had the most fun in are ones we have been in cahoots, such as the London Boiler, The threads of Lies, The sarcastic thread, "Did you know...." thread, and the ever loving "Do you honk when you blow your nose" thread. I'm sure there are more but this is all my jello filled head can think of at the moment.

Do you remember to admitting to having Monkey Toes? Or that you slept with a fan on?

Double D!! Good to "see" you! I can't believe they still let you wander around on the side of the doors that have locks! I was just thinking about you and the Blue Funk today. Dad didn't remember 53 Chevy's having a foot starter; I told him I was pretty sure they did. I think you and I had this discussion once.

Anyway, to the point of your thread, here is a classic:

https://allnurses-breakroom.com/general-off-topic/on-lighter-note-364830.html

Read this clear through and you'll learn all sorts of intimate details of some of the AN crowd. You'll learn who sleeps with the fan on; who sleeps with sox on; and who sleeps with nuthin at all on!

I also learned from this thread that if a woman is well endowed, it's a good idea to memorize the color of her eyes; there might be an important quiz at the end of the date!

I hope you enjoy the read; you'll even see a few rakish comments from yours truly!

Dan, you forgot to Mention that I have Cooties...

Double D!! Good to "see" you! I can't believe they still let you wander around on the side of the doors that have locks!

Same to you, Dan!

They said as long as I continue to NOT be a Threat of Harm toward myself or Others and/or Function Adequately in Society and meet my Basic Physiological Needs, I can keep my Keys and earn a Paycheck, thank you very much.

Dad didn't remember 53 Chevy's having a foot starter; I told him I was pretty sure they did. I think you and I had this discussion once.

As far as I know, Dan, you are Correct. In fact, I replaced the Blue Funk's 1951 Damaged Cab with a '53 Cab off of a 1 1/2 ton Truck, and it too, had a Foot Starter.

Your Dad not recalling his '53 not having a Foot Starter is not unusual. The Mechanic who got the Blue Funk's Engine starter told me of his first car, which was a 1948 Chevy. After he got the Blue Funk running, he said he didn't recall how difficult it was maneuvering without Power Steering or Brakes!

Don't be a Stranger, Dan!

I'm the one who can pick things up with my toes and I sleep with a fan on - (tinnitus and now hot flashes).

Thanks Dan for coming to check out this thread - Davey, I linked it for him on his FB.
