- Sep 14, '12 by aknottedyarnYesterday I met a very nice young man. He was obviously afraid to tell me where he came from. How sad that in this country a person has to fear saying what country they came from. I think he was surprised that I was delighted to meet him.
We cannot allow the actions of a few to dominate our thoughts and actions. In a similar vein we have had people protect funerals from the Westboro Church protests.
Sad that they feel the need to apologize for the behavior of a few militants. We are fortunate that these people understand that without their distancing themselves from the crazies, many in this country would have no idea that the feelings of the few are not the norm. - Sep 14, '12 by aknottedyarnNo protest before Benghazi attack, wounded Libyan guard says | McClatchy BENGHAZI, Libya — A Libyan security guard who said he was at the U.S. consulate here when it was attacked Tuesday night has provided new evidence that the assault on the compound that left four Americans dead, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, was a planned attack by armed Islamists and not the outgrowth of a protest over an online video that mocks Islam and its founder, the Prophet Muhammad.
- Sep 14, '12 by CrufflerJJWhile I appreciate the kind sentiments of the Libyan "locals", I am inclined to embrace the sayings of the most holy Prophet (blessed be his name) John Browning, and his wondrous M2HB creation (plus a lesser blessing, the Mk19 40mm Grenade Launcher).
I do not feel that I, as an American, should be interfering with the affairs of foreign governments/citizens. I despise my government's interference in numerous foreign lands.
Leave well enough alone.
That being said, I (being a kind, gentle soul), am of the belief that our enemies do not fear America enough. IMHO, we should be kind, gentle, benevolent giant, with the ability/willingness to thoroughly SHRED/DESTROY those who p-i-s-s us off. It's one thing to be a "sugar daddy" to a foreign nation, and another to be a "partner.'
The wondrous benefits promised to those nations who give us "stuff' must be balanced with the threat of overwhelming destruction to those nations who threaten us with harm.
Shiny, radioactive green glass is a beautiful thing.

As far as I'm concerned, America's leaders should stop accepting all the 'explanations' and excuses for Islamist brutality. Let's call it what it is: barbarianism. The violence will never stop until moderate Muslims stand up, en masse, against the extremists and stop giving them their implicit support by keeping silent. Our Politicians haven't sugar coated it. Obama and Ms. Clinton both have called it what it was and didn't sugar coat it.
It would help if moderate Muslims were able to control the extremists, but since we can't control our own extremists from burning the Koran or making anti-Islamic films because of our freedoms, I won't hold my breath on that on either. Yeah I know there's a difference between storming an embassy and murdering innocent people and burning the Koran in America. - Sep 14, '12 by aknottedyarnQuote from TweetyWe can't even keep those degenerates that call themselves Christians from funeral services. There are many reasons why we are not liked. The attack apparently was part of a 9-11 event for the extremists. While I am very upset that it happened I also realize 4 dead is different that 3000 +. They are failing..

That is not an acceptance or excusing their behavior. I just think we have to be honest. We cannot stop things in this country. Why would we be able to control actions in another country?
I am very happy with the work of Obama and Clinton since the events. Both have given very good speeches. I wish all news stations would report the entire text rather than editing to make it look like they have not addressed what was needed. - Sep 14, '12 by nursel56Thanks for posting those, Herring. Even little drops of the reminder of our common humanity uplift my soul a little bit. :-)
Secretary Clinton hit just the right tone in her remarks. When Senator McCain acknowledged that on Twitter I got a couple of drops more. - Sep 14, '12 by That GuyQuote from CrufflerJJStanley: War? Gabriel: Anyone who impinges on America's freedom. Terrorist states, Stanley. Someone must bring their war to them. They bomb a church, we bomb ten. They hijack a plane, we take out an airport. They execute American tourists, we tactically nuke an entire city. Our job is to make terrorism so horrific that it becomes unthinkable to attack Americans.Jolie and CrufflerJJ like this.
