Rush Limbaugh is an idiot, unfortunately he will stay on the air because we are our country is full of idiots. I don't mean to insult anyone, but I have a strong opinion on this matter.

His show has a right to exist.

It takes a man to look honestly at himself and admit when he's wrong.

He ain't no man. Liberal press alert.

After losing five of his sponsors following four days of publicly harassing and trashing the reputation of Georgetown University Law School student Sandra Fluke over the topic of contraception, Rush Limbaugh wrote what looks like a weak and reluctant apology on his website Saturday. The problem with this feeble attempt at an apology is that Rush is wrong on multiple points. Not once on his show did he attack Republicans in Congress for taking on the contraception fight. He specifically targeted Sandra Fluke, the only woman who testified in defense of President Obama’s rule requiring insurance companies to provide contraception, free of charge, to female employees of religious organizations. He called her a “****” and a “prostitute” and went on to say that she should post sex tapes online so he can watch them. This wasn’t a poor choice of words as Limbaugh claims. It was a ferocious attack on a woman because she supports access to birth control.

While I agree with Limbaugh on a good many of the issues (although not this one), I've never liked his bombastic style or his bullying manner. And this time he's gone so far over the line that I'm not sure he'll be able to bounce back as he has in the past.

I wouldn't want to see him censored---I think the market should dictate whether he stays on the air or not. But really, if people would stop listening to him, he'd go away.

I'm not a fan of Rush Limbaugh. I don't like his style. I certainly don't like his politics or his points of view of the world. Although others may disagree with my observations, to my eyes he certainly hasn't done much to help the ever more dyfunctional politics that this country is experiencing. However, he is an "entertainer". Other entertainers have done and said much worse things than his wild comment about women. So, No. I don't think his show should be cancelled just because of his distasteful comments. I do wish that his faithful followers would see him as the fool that he is. He's just an entertaining fool, one who's comments and opinions should NOT be taken seriously. Yet, many of his faithful followers do take him seriously. How sad and frightening is THAT?!?!

It does seem that his show could face cancellation, though, as more and more sponsors wisely pull out their funding for it. Oh well.

I can't disagree with this tit for tat change of topic. When he crosses a line there's outrage as well..although he does seem to attack poublic figures and that comes with the territory...doesn't make it right, but Ms. Fluke wasn't a public figure.....Women's Rights Petition: Bill Maher Should be Taken off the Air | Change.org

    I
t doesn't make this topic any less outrageous just because Bill Maher is on the air.

I recently got satellite radio and was scanning through the channels last night on the way home and came across Howard Stern.

That disgusting vile man is on the air and has hoards of followers, mostly from the left side of the equation. He calls women all kinds of names and in the 30 seconds that I landed on his station, profanity including the "F" word spewed forth.

I'm a fan of Rush and his show and listen almost every day. He has always used the idea of illustrating absurdity by being absurd. Sometimes he goes overboard.

There is a lot more to this story - including the background of this so-called "student".

And has she ever heard of Planned Parenthood? I spent the entire day with my daughter yesterday who lives in a college town and just about every girl in town goes to PP for birth control issues.

I do not believe and will never believe that someone should be canceled by anything other than the market . . . . .Rush has had other controversies in his career and this one won't be the last and it won't cancel his show.

I happened to hear the discussion in question. I listened to parts of several of his broadcasts last week.

His overblown statement that the Dems were "forcing the Pope to do abortions" was also quite offensive in his hyperbole. He added an "almost" later, after it became obvious on air that one of his handlers signaled him to censor a bit....you could tell by his aside remarks.

He definitely a childish, bombastic and a nasty bully - reminds me of the whiny fat kid in grade school that tried to terrorize the littler kids. Possibly worse than Sean Hannity, whom I had the misfortune to meet more than once, in person, before he was a Fox News personality, and the man is no better than pond slime.

They set the conservative movement back every time they open their mouths and say something ridiculously overblown. It also sends Independants, that support some of their causes running back to the liberal side, not wanting to be associated with such loons.

We also had Mark Levin going crazy on birth control issues, saying over and over that buying the pill and getting birth control is easier and cheaper than getting an aspirin.

I bought a bottle of aspirin for 1.99. It took a few minutes and no MD visit.

May someone make him get in the stirrups at least once a year, may someone check out his insides with a cold speculum and biopsy/culture (350.00 bill), fill out 5 pages of personal history, come in repeatedly for BP checks and pay 20-80 a month for BCPs, and then he can come back and tell me how cheap and easy it is to obtain birth control .

I agree, but make no mistake, you are not the market in this case. You are the commodity being sold.

The show will not be cancelled if and only if the companies buying your attention think there's an economic advantage to be had by promoting his particular style of shock jockery.

If enough ratings points, ie people, walk away he's history.

My take on the subject is here:http://allnurses-breakroom.com/us-po...118-page8.html

I don't necessarily think Bill Maher is more hateful on a more continual basis. I would say Bill's opinions are equal in frequency to Rush's with regards to commenting on the political oppostion, AND NOT equal in intensity. From what I've heard and saw on Bill Maher's show in the past, he seems less intense than Rush. However, with all of that said, I don't like Bill Maher either. I don't think he's funny and I don't care for his style of political commentary. So, I don't watch him.

Jon Steward and Stephen Colbert, on the other hand, are definitely "my cup of tea" to when it comes to both humor and political commentary. They both admit, Jon especially, that they're comedians first and foremost. Oh. . . and they both better represent my politics as well.

    Flame away. . . HA!!!
