I have no problem that you posted those humorous (to me) things. I seriously had never seen them before, ever. Not bad taste on your part to post them....not at all, but we all know that some would think they were done in bad taste by the person who did them.

So I have been under weather and had to go back and forth today to the MD, the pharmacy, the lab, the MD, the lab again. And turned on talk radio.

Rush is talking to a caller and of course fabricating things to blame on Obama.

Caller calls and reports that isn't Obama the one that banned that drug "Evaxin" from being used for breast cancer pts and isn't that more antiwomen's health than what Rush said. Rush then, of course agrees and then they discuss that "Obama" is also responsible for raising the age for breast cancer tests and decreasing the frequency.

As the mouth of this Oncology nurse (15 yrs and counting) and cancer survivor (from my late teens) and descendant of numerous breast cancer survivor, drops to the floor, I have to pull over to figure out what the %^&* this idiot is talking about. And Rush and the caller go on with their yammering.

It seems that the drug that they are referring to is Avastin, that was briefly fast tracked for approval by the FDA for treatment of ADVANCED metastatic breast cancer, AGAINST many researchers and advisors that were well aware that research had not been completed. It lost it's approval for several reasons. First, it did not work!!!!! It demonstrated virtually no benefit for treating that population, no lengthening of life, no improvement in quality of life, or symptom management over current treatments. Second, it carried SUBSTANTIAL risks of additional side effects, severe lifethreatening hypertension, sudden preforations of the nasal septum,stomach, and intestines, massive hemmorhage, strokes, MIs, etc. There were research pts that had serious morbidity and died during use, that the drug is demonstrated to contribute to or have hastened. the drug was also never a cure, only thought to slow tumor growth minimally, which it, in the end, did not do.

Add in the yearly cost of 80,000 dollars per year, for just the drug itself, not including administration costs and labs for a drug that is demonstrated not to work for met breast ca. Take into account that pts already on it, were permitted to continue it. That it is still covered by Medicare, even minus the FDA approval. And the drug has not been banned or takien away from use for any of the legitimate FDA approved uses.

Top that with the fact that OBAMA has nothing to do with approving or pulling FDA approval of drugs.

But per Rush, this is Obama personally making war on women and taking away lifesaving drugs from women, stricken with metastatic breast cancer.

As far as breast cancer tests, well I guess that he and his male guest were not familiar with the word "mammogram". Again, the NCI/NIH studies demonstrate that random screening mammograms before a certain age are not demonstrated with a better prognosis or substantial benefit. The term random is the key. This means that if there is a significant family history, specific risk factors, or exam findings that indicate need for mammogram, it is still recommended , no matter the woman's age.

Obama has nothing to do with these recommendations. He also does not control what your personal insurance company does in regards to that recommendation.

But per Rush, It's AAAALLLLLLLLL Obama's fault.

Now if Rush was so ignorant as to the facts, it would have taken all of 2 minutes to research on google. But that was just too much work for Rush.

Has any nationally elected Republican or Republican governor ever publicly disagreed with Rush Limbaugh about anything?

I would love to see Rush try to address this conference and call all those using contraceptives _____ and ______. I doubt the apology would fly any better with them than it has publicly.

He would probably claim it was Obama's fault for letting all those ____ and ____ into the military. He probably thinks they are all gay, too.

Not that I can think of hearing about. Sure you've got the generic lines used to save their political asses, but I can't remember hearing about anyone in the Republican party straight up disagreeing with Limbaugh. Again, this is going off my memory, I have no research to back this up.

Suddenly I hear circus music as this whole situation goes spiraling out of control.

It's a very nice ruse to keep the focus off of the real issues.
