That includes images of aborted fetuses, images from slaughter houses, and the before/after crack pictures. That's not nanny state. That's letting people know what can or does happen with a certain choice.

Smoking rates are also slowly dropping in the US. U.S. Smoking Rate Still Coming Down
I really think higher taxes does more than the warnings on the packages to discourage smoking. Still, it doesn't hurt.
