“the formula is not working, and everyone is now talking about whether austerity is the only solution,” said [color=#004276]jordi vaquer i fanés, a political scientist and director of the barcelona center for international affairs in spain. “does this mean that merkel has lost completely? no. but it does mean that the very nature of the debate about the euro-zone crisis is changing.” …

  4. Absolutely, growth is needed....PRIVATE SECTOR growth, which produces jobs and tax revenue without contributing to national debt, deficit or inflation is healthy and desperately needed, not just in Europe, but everywhere.

Growth of government also produces jobs, but does so by increasing government spending, leading to oppressive tax hikes, increased national debt and deficit, and inflation. All recovery killers.

As has been shown in Europe, austerity does not create private sector jobs and growth...it's hurts the economy. There has to be austerity for the long term, no doubt about it but it has to be done with some common sense. Here in America private sector growth is occurring slowly and if we use austerity with some common sense the private sector can keep pace. The private sector needs customers.
