Where have you been on vacation?

  1. I am not a nurse yet. Thinking about going back to school as a second-degree student.

I LOVE to travel. Haven't done much of it, but have been to Ghana (to volunteer), Italy, and Malta.

Where have you been, for how long did you go, and what did you do?

I have visited two countries in Central America, Canada several times and most of Europe. Moscow once. I go to Sweden every 6 months to visit relatives and from there visit other sites. Makes me happy to learn other cultures and make friends in other places. Live in Texas and have never visited the country closest to me - Mexico! So I still have places on my bucket list.

I'm a lover of hot tropical weather so my vacations usually entail islands and/or very warm places.

In terms of the USA, I've visited ME, VT, NH, MA, RI, live in CT, NY, NJ, PA, MD, VA, DC, FL and NV. (still plan on seeing more of this great US of A)

Out of country, I've visitied PR, Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Jamaica, and Aruba.

My dream vacation..a tour of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England and then Italy and Greece.

Like classicdame, I have many on my bucket list but if I were only able to do one dream vaca...I'd have to go with my ancestral family homelands..Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England.

I'm not well-traveled and have never been outside the United States. I would love to start visiting more places, but travelling costs so much darned money.

The states I've seen include CA, NV, AZ, NM, TX, OK, AR, LA, and FL. I was born and raised in CA and have been living in TX for the past seven years. I attended school in OK for one year.

Internationally I've been to Guatemala, Belize, Jamaica, various parts of Mexico, the Cayman Islands, Italy, Germany, and France.

I've seen most of the US except the West Coast...dying to visit Seattle and California!

I love traveling...Rome and NYC are two of my favorite places, and we make a yearly trip to Disney World as a family and an annual couples trip to Vegas.

Lots of sight-seeing, eating, alcoholism, shopping, and general debauchery. Except at Disney World. No debauchery there

I have worked my tail end off to have done 16 cruises, one week in Saint Thomas, and I have two more weeks in saint thomas planned this year. I love all things warm, beach and frozen fru-fru drinks. Plus all the disney and amusement like stuff when the kids were young.

I'm not a good traveler. I hate to fly...not so much fear as discomfort in small spaces and horrible motion sickness, even when medicated for it. I did go to France in High School with the French Club, and it was memorable but I also remember being largely miserable while there. I've been to Mexico several times, both flying in (Cozumel) and walking in (Nuevo Progresso). When I was a toddler we went to Canada but I have no memory of it.

I was born in Louisiana, and now live in Texas. I've visited all the gulf coast states, Arkansas, Missouri, Ohio, Nevada, and Nebraska (which I drove to from LA, so I guess you can count Kansas too). That's pretty much it I'd like to see California and also the East Coast, but it will be a loooong road trip or train because I just don't see myself flying again in my lifetime. I also want to see the Kentucky Horse Park and possibly the Derby, so another road trip there!

I want to go to Belize! Tell me all about it!

Isn't Rome fantastic? I went there 6 months ago and I felt like I could live there.

Sooo...It is possible to be a nurse and find the time to travel! I say this because many nurses I know tell me they have no time off to travel. I hope it is just them and not the profession.

Like I said, I am not a nurse yet, but I have been thinking about going back for a second-degree BSN. Ever since I traveled to Ghana in September and stepped inside the community health clinic, I knew nursing was my real calling.

Thanks for sharing everyone! I really enjoy hearing others' travels.
