  1. This is a discussion on Discounts on Cruises---Just not for NURSES... in Vacations / Travel / Trips, part of Family Central ... So, I have been researching my next cruise and I have noticed that most of the cruise websites are...

    So, I have been researching my next cruise and I have noticed that most of the cruise websites are asking if one has 'special circumstances', such as being: a Senior Citizen, served in the Military, a fire fighter or an EMT.
    Why not Nursing? I mean, when I think of all the lives my co-workers and I have saved, the abuse (physically and emotionally) that we endure daily to save these lives, the amount of education it takes to obtain a nursing degree, etc....I feel that we should be included in that 'special group', too.

    Guess, one again, we miss out.

    The Swan and Dolphin at Walt Disney World used to give discounts to nurses-don't know if they still do....

    I agree. This really sucks. Maybe if enough of us email the cruise lines will we get results. I was thrilled when I found out I would get 5 percent off my apt. for being a nurse. Some places gives us discounts some don't.

    I know exactly what you are talking about, I've seen it and I complained just like you. It's not fair!
    LOL I couldn't afford a cruise when I was an EMT.

    I just booked a cruise with Disney and this annoyed me too, especially because I am a nurse that works for an ambulance service!
