there is so much to see and do! and they are always adding stuff!
it depends on what your family likes, there really is something for everyone there. do you like shows and live plays? do you like rollercoasters and thrill rides? do you have small kids that would like to see the characters?
i recommend getting up as early as you can and getting to the parks around 0700/0730 when they open. not sure how familiar you are with florida.. but here's how the day works from june-november. in the morning, it's pretty cool and dewy, like 75 or 80 degrees. then, around 12 noon, it gets to be 100 degrees, no breeze, humid and just so hot you can cook an egg on the sidewalk. then around 1500 or so, it rains, but only on one side of the street, and the sun's usually shining. stay well hydrated, and if you have one of those little fans you can wear around your neck--bring it!! also recommend wearing a bathing suit if you are going to the magic kingdom or islands of adventure.
get there early and get a map... pick out what you wanna see and head there first. if you have little kids, i would recommend a character breakfast at disney--they do them at the crystal palace, cinderella's castle, contemporary resort, polynesian resort and grand flordiian resort. the characters come around to your table and sit with you and pose for pictures, it's alot of fun!
anywho, if you get there early enough, go to every thing you wanna go on in the area you are in and get fast passes---that way you can jump the line later. magic kingdom is my favorite disney place... toontown in disney is alot of fun for young kids, as well as the area near the castle that has the tea cups and dumbo's ride. splash mountain is one of my faves. haunted mansion is cool to check out.... i dont recommend the lilo and stitch ride for small children--scared the crap outta my little sister. if you have time, play the buzz lightyear game and i believe the finding nemo ride is there too. animal kingdom is also a cool thing to do, they have great combination of safari with real animals, 3D shows like bug's life... and an awesome rollercoaster, the dinosaur ride is kinda scary tho, even for me. epcot is cool because it has alot of different hands on exhibits and also has the world showcase--good place for lunch! i recommend the moroccan restaurant or the japanese restaurant, if you like those kinds of foods. also really enjoy the test track ride. MGM studios is fun, but it is usually my last stop.
umm universal studios is fun too.. soo much to see and do, you can see lots of live shows and stuff like that, theres nickelodeon studios thats always a fun place to visit. i really loved the ET ride, don't know if its still there. alot of cool old school movie stuff there like back to the future.... and also the mummy which is cool but again kinda scary for young kids. also, they have dr. seuss land. sometimes spongebob and cat in the hat are walking around for pictures.
islands of adventure is a blast if you like thrill rides and rollercoasters. this is where we usually go and stay. there is dueling dragons, the incredible hulk, spiderman ride... lots and lots of fun.
shopping... theres downtown disney, which has lego land, and lots and lots of disney stores... and also city walk in universal, which is more grown up... has some nice surf shops like roxy/quiksilver, a big fossil stores, etc... lots of clubs for adults, outdoor concerts, and bob marley's restaurant which i highly recommend.
anyway, can you tell i live in florida and have annual passes?
have a blast on your vacation!!!! stay cool and wear sunscreen!! it's hot as heck here!
