Trump's new immigration policy-would you qualify?

  1. This is Trump's new immigration qualifier. Essentially, the wealthy who are willing to invest big bucks in America can get in. All others need not apply.

Despite having 2 Masters' degrees from the US (one in science), a good job, and English fluency, I would not qualify. What about you?

No, I don't qualify to come to the US. And hey, neither does Trump. He's too old, can't speak English fluently, doesn't hold an International Award, etc.

This is so stupid! And Tom Cotton from Arkansas sponsored this? I can't imagine that people at this level or looking to immigrant to Arkansas!!!!!

Yeah, but he (supposedly) has money to invest, which is what this is really all about. Looking at the points assigned to various qualifications, it appears that money is the real issue, and the other categories are largely window dressing.

Hey, it's worked great for Trump and his family and plenty of members of Congress -- I'm sure they don't see anything that could go wrong.

Not sure if I would choose to immigrate to the US right now.

Locally we had a foreign worker die working in a field because the boss wouldn't let him take a break when he felt ill

I just checked my eligibility numbers against the requirements. Sadly, I do not possess a Nobel Prize nor have I won an Olympic medal. My higher education and great job wpuld still not allow me to immigrate to the United States at this time. I would say it is very fortunate I was born here, LOL, but recent news has made me question that privilege.

What a time we live in, when the contributions and achievements of immigrants to this nation are now reduced to minimal "points" and an ineligible status. Indeed my entire family would never have been able to make the trip across the Atlantic and that, I can assure you without question, would have been a loss to this country. Such a shame our president sees no value in a solid work ethic and dedicated commitment to labor and improving one's self and ones family's station in life. Guess that's what comes from his being raised with privilege and zero work ethic.

Ok, where are the folks who welcome immigrants from everywhere as long as it's done legally?

No, I meant the folks here who swear they don't have a problem with immigrants from anywhere, as long as they're legal immigrants.
