Former FBI Agents Praise Comey Firing [VIDEO]

Former FBI agents don’t seem as surprised as the rest of the world that James Comey was fired by President Trump today.

In fact, some of them are quite satisfied.

James Kallstrom, former FBI Assistant Director, said he is “glad it happened.”
“…Way back almost a year ago [Comey] kinda forgot he was the FBI director,” Kallstrom explained, going into Comey’s apparent mistakes in handling the investigation of Hillary Clinton.

“…So he made a lot of mistakes. I think basically he’s a good guy [but] he was lacking common sense.”

Another former Assistant Director, Bill Gavin, said he “feel[s] badly for [Comey]” but said, “it’s something that had to happen.”

“Jim Comey is a bright guy, he’s an ethical guy, but the bottom line is, when he made a prosecutive [sic] opinion in an investigative matter he made a mistake,” Gavin asserted.

“We all make mistakes in life, this was a big one.”

Former Assistant Director Ron Hosko said the firing was “shocking” but not at all surprising given the context.

“Certainly there are going to be some FBI who think he went too far back in July…I think, that is, reasonable minds can agree, the province of the prosecutor.”

Hosko also argued that Comey had to “throw himself on a grenade” over Loretta Lynch’s meeting with Bill Clinton, and being fired was the “price he had to pay.”

FBI's role is to investigate and send findings to Grand Jury or DOJ's Office for prosecution. This guy grandstanded and was a Obama plant that forgot there was a new Sheriff in town with cojones. Gonna be a new FBI director. Hillary is practicing "Pleading The Fifth"
Ooo-kay ... a bot, then. Welcome to my ignore list.

The fact that we have a brand spanking new member joining just to post fact-free non-sequiturs about Clinton leads me to believe that Rachel Maddow is right to bear down on this Russia business. She has come under some fire for this. Many lefties feel she's ignoring other, more urgent issues in favor of sensationalist outrage over Russia and ratings.

Reasonable people can disagree with her focus, but she and other journalists following the story do seem to be onto something. Continuously escalating attempts by the administration to shut down questions and muddy the investigative waters is getting too obvious to ignore.

I speculated quite some time ago in these fora that Trump's Russia connection along with his own corruption and self-dealing would be his downfall.

The games will continue, I'm sure ... but it will take more than an army of trained trolls to save this house of cards.

ETA: and I have a serious crush on Sally Yates!

Omg! Drain the Swamp? The WH will be empty! Oh, wait, that's actually what we want! Precious.

New sheriff in town with cojones? Who would that be? Certainly not Agent Orange with the Tiny Hands.

What Agent Orange is going to find, is that ALL Democrats and moderate members of his OWN party will demand a special prosecutor to continue the investigation into Russiagate. He and his dirty band of associates (including his son-in-law) aren't getting away.

I still have faith in the pillars of government that carry out the rule of law in this country.

    Drain the swamp, indeed!

Oh, somebody tell the Russians that nobody in the US in 2017 says: See ya, don't want to be ya.

One thing is for sure, the Liberal talking heads are out in force comparing Trump to Nixon, which is actually a step up after they compared him to Hitler. I love being an American and having Donald Trump as president, life is fun again.

Anyone here who has worked in corporate healthcare will recognize the tactic of digging up anything you can to get rid of inconvenient employees.

It tends to support my theory that Trump is trying to run the government like a cut-throat private corporation. Can you say "Enron"?

Life has gotten fun again, indeed.

Several conservative Republicans are finding it impossible to defend Agent Orange's latest move. So, watch out!

I love being an American and I love watching democracy in action and I love watching the dirty go down!

Do 16-year-old boys in Russia playing with computers understand that?

Racheal Maddox is and idiot. Didn't she play Kevin on the Wonder Years?

Yes she is so correct, I remember her telling her liberal fans there was no way Trump could ever win the Election.

Yeah, that was before Trump and his minions colluded with the Russians to throw the election. Those of us who are reasonable, responsible, patriotic Americans didn't see that one coming ...

I wonder if Hillary will now be prosecuted.
I doubt it but as always, time will tell.

    DRAIN THE SWAMP
I doubt that will happen either. The swamp seems to be thriving (I think we might even have seen some new species "evolve" ), and the putridity seems to be reaching record highs. Or perhaps it's just the stench of increased CO2 and CH4 emissions These days it's hard to tell

This guy grandstanded and was a Obama plant
    Aha! ... Or, wait...

And Director Comey thought reopening the the email investigation on the eve of the election would please President Obama, how exactly? Your theory is a bit lacking in logic.

.....that forgot there was a new Sheriff in town with cojones.
There are so many things wrong with this statement (other than the obvious fact that it makes me more than mildly nauseous to think of "your guy" and cojones in the same sentence).

The optics of your guy being heavy-handed towards the director of the agency that is currently investigating whether your guy's campaign did in fact coordinate with a foreign power, are problematic. To say the least.

I can see two possible explanations for the decision to fire the director of the FBI (a combination of the two is also possible). Neither, I'm afraid, are particularly "manly".

One, it's possible the President's decision was motivated by fear. That's not good news for your guy. If there is reason to fear the ongoing investigation, that would seem to indicate that your guy really does have something to hide. The other explanation that I can see, is that your guy really doesn't like having people close to him that he can't control. I think that he has been surrounded by "yes-people" his entire life. The director might have been perceived as a threat simply because he was too independent for your guy's liking. Your guy doesn't strike me as a person who likes to share the limelight. In my opinion he wants to be, no needs to be center stage, adored and obeyed. (The campaign style rallies he still attends despite having won the election, where the crowds allow him to bask in their adulation, certainly suggests as much).

So either way, the President's decision to fire the director of the FBI, doesn't project strength to me.

I'm sure that you saw the same thing that I did back in October. Donald Trump was super excited about the reopening of the email investigation. He was heaping praise on Director Comey. Donald Trump was pretty much Director Comey's number one fan. What do you think has changed since then? (the clue you're looking for is March 20th).

The funny thing is, I don't think that this latest ploy will work out the way your guy might hope. The strange and unproven series of tweets about Trump Tower and wiretaps backfired. They only served to increase the attention on the possible connection between the Trump Campaign and Russia. The harebrained Nunes caper met with pretty much the same fate. I suspect this latest development will have the same effect.

You got ran over by the Trump Train. America was on board. Only the liberals on the West Coast and some upper East Coast went for Hillary

You can say that again! This is the most political entertainment I've ever had. I wish you had some research to actually make it interesting to read your comments but your kind haven't got the attention span or curiousity to seek out research unless it's presented in video or churlishly a la' Alex Jones. Doesn't this ever bother you how frequently you are wrong?

Three people fired, all investigating the Russian ties. Comey, Bohara and Yates. These are prosecutors with the mindset of vindictiveness and the political know how of years of experience. They have connections and most of all, previous knowledge on most of their subjects. You keep your enemies close and he has alienated three people who knows where the skeletons are buried and now placed them in the same boat, with the same motivation. This is what happens when you live in isolation and surround yourself with cronyism. It's a good thing he's not publicly traded because someone would make a bundle shorting him.

I think Trump is a good thing because after the dust settles the Republican cronies will be buried and hopefully the cream of good politicians will rise up without the hypocrisy and self serving greed that would balance the goodness of the Democrats to provide us with good governance.

He's going to take a lot of people down with him when he goes and so far it looks like they are all shady characters. John Kasich needs to make his voice heard if he is to take his rightful place. Nikki Haley and Bobby Jindal as well. I always wonder why Republicans are so weak in character, always succumbing to the least desirable traits.
