The President Donald Trump Thread

  1. I thought I would create a thread where we can talk about what he's currently up to. No particular topic but one that's ongoing with what he's doing and saying.

I'll start with this speech on Black History Month. Seemed very narcissistic, immature and disjointed. He went off topic to make a slam against CNN and their "fake news".

Trump used a Black History Month speech to talk about himself, how he did with black voters, and CNN - Vox

Not a surprise. Every day I'm more convinced he is truly mentally ill, be it malignant narcissism or some other personality disorder. He is unfit to lead.

The comments about Frederick Douglass were priceless! I had to read the sentence twice to make sure I was understanding what I was reading.

He is apparently unaware that Mr. Douglass is dead, and has been dead for quite a while. And while Trump may be hearing of Frederick Douglass for the first time, most educated people know who he was and his importance in American history.

Not a brain cell in Trump's big, empty head. Clearly, he PAID somebody to take classes for him at the University of Pennsylvania. He doesn't have the attention span to do college-level work, nor the brain capacity. Sad.

Obama's projections for LGBT workers will remain under Trump. The caveat being this could be undone by "religious freedom", which is supported by his Supreme Court nominee.

I was fired in the mid-80's for being gay in a privately owned restaurant franchise because I wasn't "man enough". When I came out in the 70's gay people lived in the closet, for fear of losing their livelihood (as well as their families). I'm fortunate that I work for a company that has a written clause protecting it's LGBT workers and I don't think our society is going to go backwards. However, I am concerned that for some there will be no protections or legal recourse for people that get fired for being gay by Christians (whom will turn a blind eye to adultery, divorce, and other "sins" as none of their business, but will fire gays).

Trump is breath of fresh air. He destroyed Hillary in the election, a come from behind underdog, The American Dream.

He has entered office and kept his promise. He is now posed to probably appoint maybe 4 Supreme Court judges and shape the next 30 years with a conservative direction.

Trump is a rolling train right now, he is kicking tail and taking names. Very impressive.

You have Fake Tears Chuck Schumer crying like a baby, while the GOP has taken control of America.

Thank you Obama and thank you Democratic Party for giving us Hillary Clinton, the worst Presidential Candidate in our lifetime. Great Job DNC by rigging the primaries and basically screwing Bernie Sanders out of a fair race. As of now the Democrats are still in a state of shock and have no clue what is going on.

They were ran over by the Trump Train.

To sum it up best. Sean Spicer said this:

"For those that are used to Presidents only fundraising, playing golf, or bathing with bathtub cereal girl, it must've been a confusing week"

More like a putrid swamp or a rotting carcass than a breath of fresh air.Unless, of course, you savor the smell of a democracy dying.

What on earth are you talking about? He eked out a slim victory in a few unexpected states, which gave him a modest victory in the Electoral College (and let's not even start on how much of his victory was attributable to Russian interference ...) He lost the popular vote "bigly." He has the lowest approval rates of any incoming US president in decades.

You conservatives really are living in a fantasy world. Enjoy it while it lasts ...

Yes, it becomes more clear every time he opens his mouth.

No ‘G’day, mate’: On call with Australian prime minister, Trump badgers and brags - The Washington Post

It should have been one of the most congenial calls for the new commander in chief — a conversation with the leader of Australia, one of America’s staunchest allies, at the end of a triumphant week.

Instead, President Trump blasted Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull over a refugee agreement and boasted about the magnitude of his electoral college win, according to senior U.S. officials briefed on the Saturday exchange. Then, 25 minutes into what was expected to be an hour-long call, Trump abruptly ended it.

At one point, Trump informed Turnbull that he had spoken with four other world leaders that day — including Russian President Vladimir Putin — and that “this was the worst call by far.”

    Holey moley ...

Trump Wins by Losing a Court Fight Over Debt - Bloomberg View

This was new yesterday; once again, he was sued by regular people he screwed over financially. He lost the suit but, as the article points out, still managed to come out ahead financially. I'm sure the conservatives will consider this a good thing, evidence of his superior business acumen. To me, it just makes him look like a creep who has made a career of making money by screwing other people over. It's incomprehensible to me that anyone could have any respect or positive feelings for him.

Trump opens National Prayer Breakfast with talk about TV ratings | TheHill

President Trump on Thursday addressed the National Prayer Breakfast, opening his remarks by talking about TV ratings.Trump noted his "tremendous success" as star of his reality shows "The Apprentice" and "Celebrity Apprentice," as well as the latter show's drop in ratings since he left.

"We know how that turned out. The ratings went right down the tubes. It's been a total disaster" since the show restarted with Arnold Schwarzenegger hosting, Trump said.

"And I want to just pray for Arnold if we can, for those ratings," he joked.
