The President Donald Trump Thread - page 3

I thought I would create a thread where we can talk about what he's currently up to. No particular topic but one that's ongoing with what he's doing and saying. I'll start with this speech on... Read More

You know,I'd like to get on board with you, but I just can't. He mocks the disabled, disparages women, has questionable support for LGBTQ people, and has filled his cabinet with people who have paid to be there. You say you're not racist, but you support someone who is. To me,that's the same thing. He's only interested in keeping America safe for rich white Christian males. Of course you have the right to support who you choose, but I think you're just making excuses for his deplorable behavior. He is a complete embarrassment to this country.

I don't agree with you, but I do appreciate your courtesy in your post. We don't see a lot of that from Trump supporters here.

While I obviously don't agree with you politically, I just want to send a big KUDOS your way for expressing your opinion in an intelligent manner. You put forth your argument for your candidate in a respectful manner and I respect that because you did so in such a way that didn't resort to snarky comments and nonsense.

I look forward to your future comments, even though we will disagree.
    Hi.
I want to chime in and say, while I do disagree with CBlover politically, and she knows that, we have had very friendly interactions about lots of other stuff on the board. I like her, we are friends. I know she left the board for a bit over politics.
I, for one, am glad you are back, CB.

Trump is tweeting this morning about the attack at the Louvre today, and yet still no mention of the Quebec shooting with multiple victims. I believe it is because the Canadian shooter was a white, Trump supporter.

Perhaps your candidate can win in 2020 with all your correct facts. If not enjoy another participation trophy.

I haven't read everyone's posts, but I know there's a lot of absolute anti-Trumpers here and I respect you all. Well,....I am a big Trump fan. One of those that wears the t-shirts and has more than one bumper sticker. But I'll have to admit, this has been one head spinning week. I always felt like he'd stick to his campaign promises about keeping our country safe, re: the border wall, and the more stringent vetting of immigrants. I'm sure a lot of you who oppose him are already cringing at my post and I get it. I think for me personally, what I like is that he doesn't give one iota what the left or right thinks, for that matter, he is sticking to his word and what we, his voters chose him for. Folks, I promise, there's not a racist bone in me, I have a Brazilian husband and my best friend is black. I work with gays and lesbians and find they're actually a lot nicer than straights it seems. I am absolutely for legal immigration, but agree we need to get the criminal aliens out and be more careful who we allow in from countries with ties to terrorism. I think Trump's tone and ego are overkill a lot, and quite frankly I don't know that I completely believe he treats his wife well. For some reason, it seems there is some odd chemistry there. So I have my list of not-so-good characteristics I observe. And it does embarrass me for our country from time to time, but I like his overall message of America First. I just hope our country can try to come together and some of this discord will settle.
I didn't have a lot to look forward to under Clinton, and I'm not sure I have much to look forward to under Trump, but I am also hopeful. He's just chaotic enough that he might accomplish a number of things I'm a fan of, but the biggest question is how much of what he's promised is just bluster.

There have been multiple proposals to build more wall and to increase border security, these haven't passed the republican controlled congress so I'm skeptical there will be big changes coming, particularly since Trump is now asking taxpayers to foot the bill instead of Mexico.

He's promised "terrific" changes to health coverage, yet has yet to come up with any specifics except for allowing medicare to negotiate lower drug prices, which he has since taken back after meeting with BigPharma lobbyists. And now republicans are pushing the term "repair" to describe their ACA plans, instead of any version of repeal or replace which is disappointing.

And while he's promised to come up with improvements to the vetting process, he's yet to propose anything, the travel freeze isn't actually a change to how we vet people coming here. Even as just a temporary freeze with an eventual return to the same vetting process it doesn't make much sense, since there are thousands of ISIS fighters whose nationality is that of countries that aren't currently banned to travel here.

I'm hopeful that amid all the bluster there are actually good things coming, but it hasn't happened yet.

Trump is breath of fresh air. He destroyed Hillary in the election, a come from behind underdog, The American Dream.

He has entered office and kept his promise. He is now posed to probably appoint maybe 4 Supreme Court judges and shape the next 30 years with a conservative direction.

Trump is a rolling train right now, he is kicking tail and taking names. Very impressive.

You have Fake Tears Chuck Schumer crying like a baby, while the GOP has taken control of America.

Thank you Obama and thank you Democratic Party for giving us Hillary Clinton, the worst Presidential Candidate in our lifetime. Great Job DNC by rigging the primaries and basically screwing Bernie Sanders out of a fair race. As of now the Democrats are still in a state of shock and have no clue what is going on.

They were ran over by the Trump Train.

I respect your opinion and it's fair to say what you did. While I agree Democrats are still in a state of shock, I can still hardly believe it myself, they do what to do. Have you heard about the protests?

One of my Canadians friends is a little dismayed at the lack of coverage here. I told her that while I understand it's huge news in peaceful Canada, mass shootings are such commonplace here, it's barely a blip on our radar. Sad but true.

Doubtful because the dislike and downright hatred of Trump is too strong. I know liberals play a part in things in the discord, but really Republicans could have done a better job while Obama was President, rather than the whole birther thing, the Tea Party rise, on and on and on. The discord is here to stay to I'm afraid and liberals are the ones that are angry and acting up...and so it goes.

I also want to echo that I liked your approach rather than stereotyping and degrading liberals which happens here more often than not. (i.e. being called "Libtard" in a post above). It starts with us, and you're doing fine, perhaps others can follow your example. LOL

Conway talks about the Bowling Green Massacre which didn't occur. Seriously, this is an advisor to the President of the United States. She's being ridiculed and mocked mercilessly on social media. Guess you can just make up alternative history when you choose. Opps...

It more likely mass shootings by white guys is barely a blip, but brown guys who threaten whites is a topic of outrage.

This is how the liberal media works in the USA. You have an ISIS sympathizer who parents are from Afghanistan goes in a gay night club and kills 49 people and there is barely much press, I think it was the nation's worst terror attack since 9/11. And it get little press. Now if it was a white person that did it then the news and media would be still be on fire.

You had some mentally ill idiot wearing a confederate shirt shoot some black people and the world is banning the Confederate flag. If you heard this Idiot speak there was no question he was insane, and the courts let him represent himself and he was found guilty. He was mentally ill and crazy, and in my books you don't need to be a part of society anymore.
