The President Donald Trump Thread - page 202

I thought I would create a thread where we can talk about what he's currently up to. No particular topic but one that's ongoing with what he's doing and saying. I'll start with this speech on... Read More

According to this article, Democrats have flipped some 35 seats from Red to Blue, while Republicans have managed to only flip a handful.

I suspect that DJT's unpopularity, mixed with the obvious chaos and continued scandals in the WH all play into wins for the Democrats.

Yep, that Trump sure knows how to manage things! LOLOLOL.

I've never minded food assistance programs but have had an issue with what items they could purchase, such as soda and junk food. Delivering boxes of food is an interesting concept. I wonder though, how they decide which companies get their food included...more than likely big fat cat companies.

Also, I'm suspect that in order to fund tax cuts these are the things that are going to have to get trimmed down.

White House wants to deliver food to the poor, Blue Apron-style - Feb. 12, 218[/QUOTE

    Another half-baked idea.

First, as the article pointed out, families won't know in advance what food stuffs they will be receiving. Lots of food could be wasted because folks don't want to eat it.

Secondly, let's talk about cooking skills. Will the families have the skills necessary to cook up the food stuffs? Who knows? Again, an opportunity for lots of wasted food.

    Yep. More nonsense from DJT.

It seems to me that before you implement an idea like this, a lot of education would have to take place, and of course, that won't happen because all of the budget money is going towards the military!
I have copied this from a twitter post. It is another view on the commodity box--

"For everyone who is appalled by this (and you should be)--just know that this is the model used on Native reservations. Still. Today. If you're wondering what the health effects would be, we have hundreds of years of data."--Dr. Adrienne Keene.

Plus, there is the assumption that everyone who receives these boxes has the equipment to cook. If you have only a hot plate, or a microwave, or a camp stove, it could be difficult to prepare say, beans.

Not to mention the so-called meals that were delivered to the citizens of Puerto Rico.

South of me in the wealthy and very Republican Trump friendly area of Sarasota, FL a Democrat won a state house seat. Unheard of.

Yeah, that was the latest election I alluded to in my above post with a link to Washington Post article. Her last name is Good, and her opponent was well-financed.

Ms. Good won by five percentage points. That's pretty big.

Well, if Trump and minions thought that the Rob Porter debacle was going to go away soon, they were WRONG. Man, this story has legs!

Now Trey Gowdy is involved with an investigation.

Did you all hear how awkward Trump sounded when denouncing domestic violence? Perhaps because he is guilty of it himself.

Wow. Don't we all wish we had a good friend like lawyer Michael Cohen. He's such good friends with Trump, that he paid off the porn star that Trump screwed.

    Such a good friend!

Michael D. Cohen, Trump’s Longtime Lawyer, Says He Paid Stormy Daniels Out of His Own Pocket - The New York Times

It's only Wednesday folks, and two stories keep dogging Trump: Rob Porter and Stormy Daniels.

And now Trump has another school shooting/mass killing to deal with. How long will it take him to offer thoughts and prayers? It took him a week to denounce domestic violence.

I am sure there is going to be an investigation into that "payment" to the porn star.

Of course, because that's what we do after every one of the mass shootings.

This editorial from the NY Times asks the question: Why is Trump ignoring the warnings of SIX intelligence heads (four appointed by Trump) over Russian interference in the 2016 elections, and the upcoming 2018 midterm elections.

I think most of us know the answer: Trump is nothing more than Putin's puppet.

I nearly choke on my own laughter whenever I hear a Trumpster proclaim that Trump loves this country. Nothing could be further from the truth. He has a chance to defend this country, and yet he choses not to. He is a Putin puppet.

And that's all we do. Cause it's too soon to talk about making any changes or addressing the problem.
