The President Donald Trump Thread - page 149

I thought I would create a thread where we can talk about what he's currently up to. No particular topic but one that's ongoing with what he's doing and saying. I'll start with this speech on... Read More

Speaking of fake news, it seems as though the wife of US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is a proponent of fake news.

This is an AP story that ran in today's NY Daily News.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The right-wing activist whose Project Veritas organization recently attempted to plant a false story in the Washington Post has been honored by a conservative religious organization with an award presented to him by the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
James O'Keefe received the Impact Award on Wednesday night from the United in Purpose organization in a ceremony at Washington's Trump International Hotel. He was presented the award by Virginia Thomas, a tea party-affiliated activist and consultant.
O'Keefe tweeted a photo of Thomas handing him the award.
Project Veritas made headlines recently for its guerrilla tactics in defense of conservative causes. The Washington Post recently revealed an apparent sting operation designed to discredit the newspaper by planting a false story about Republican Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.

Tax Plan Aims to Slay a Reagan Target: The Government Beast - The New York Times
So California and New York taxpayers are able to deduct their state income tax from the federal IRS taxable income?
Because California has significans social programs for child health, care of the disabled, food, and homeless programs the federal government does not need to provide as much for the poor people in California.

So when we no longer can deduct our state income and property taxes from our taxable income we will pay more the the federal government?

The federal government will then be able to pay for more help for states like Mississippi and Alabama for education, disability payments, and help for poor people.

Those items that California Tax payers pay for our people will be provided to other states by California and New York tax payers.

    I am glad to help.

How do you feel about local taxes being used to build sports stadiums for millionaires, and then the citizens of that area deducting their local taxes on their federal returns?

One thing seems evident at this time, Republicans are comfortable with believing men are honest and telling the truth while simultaneously believing that women are lying, conniving, and not to be trusted. Especially in he said/she said scenarios, Republicans are anxious to support the accused male while attacking the character of the woman
Didn't you just a few weeks ago say Franken wasnt groping that woman in the picture, even though she said he did?

OMG! Al Franken admitted to his wrongdoing with the woman in question. Yes ADMITTED it and even apologized.

He apologized again today, during his resignation speech and said women are to be believed.

How do you feel about EVERYBODY hearing on tape, your president admit to sexually assaulting women and LAUGHING about it?

How do you feel about Roy Moore requesting the yearbook of one woman he is accused of molesting to verify the handwriting and NEVER hearing anything more about it?

How do you feel about a TX Congressman still sitting in Congress after paying $84k in "hush" money for sexual harassment?

I understand the dotard is now saying he can't remember making the remarks to Access Hollywood (this after bragging to us all that he has the BEST memory).

I understand that Republicans with faulty memories can take Namenda for the problem.

The person I asked the question to said the picture didn't constitute groping.

And, actually, Franken didn't apologize today or admit to anything. I'm he hasn't resigned either. And, while we're at it, if a republican was to replace him there would be no talk from him or his party of resigning. So, let's stop pretending the Democrats are on some higher moral ground.

I do not approve of tax money paying for stadiums for professional sports.
Here is just one article about that practice:
Why should public money be used to build sports stadiums? | PBS NewsHour
What do you think of me paying taxes on money I had to use to pay taxes so California's money could help people in other states?

PS: I don't think we need a football team in Los Angeles. The people of Missouri paid for the Rams stadium. That is just wrong.

Wow. How low can the Bum go? I wonder if Las Vegas has a betting book for just how low Trump's approval rating can go?

    This is from The Hill.

A new poll released Thursday shows President Trump's approval rating has hit a new low.

The Pew Research Center poll finds that just 32 percent of Americans approve of how Trump is handling his job as president. Sixty-three percent of Americans say they disapprove.
Trump's 32-percent approval rating is a new low in the Pew poll. The group's most recent survey, conducted in October, found Trump held a 34 percent approval rating after three consecutive surveys dating back to February measured his approval rating at 39 percent.
The 63 percent of Americans who disapprove of Trump's job as president is the highest Pew has measured in the poll, topping a previous high of 59 percent in Pew's October survey.

Trump's approval among Republicans has fallen since February. The poll finds that 76 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning voters approve of Trump's job as president compared to 84 percent in February.

Yet another poorly thought-out decision by the Bum that promises to bring so much well-earned respect to the United States. He has done so many stupid things, but this one is really among the top three dumbest.

I mean, even the Pope has spoken out against this move. Geez!

I'm not toomuch, but will be glad to say that Franken is not "groping" Ms. Tweeden in the photo. If you actually look at the photo (as opposed to making an assumption about what it portrays at first glance), it is clear that there is space between his hands and her chest. He is parodying groping her; it is a juvenile, offensive joke, but it's not sexual assault. Does anyone believe that, if he were actually sexually assaulting her, he would be standing there, mugging for the camera, while a photo was taken of the "assault"? That has no bearing on any of the other allegations against him, and I don't fault her for being deeply offended, but he's not groping her in the photo.
