The President Donald Trump Thread - page 123

I thought I would create a thread where we can talk about what he's currently up to. No particular topic but one that's ongoing with what he's doing and saying. I'll start with this speech on... Read More

I read that Trump is having some remorse about his EO that rolled back the Obama requirements to rebuild on flood plains with the purpose of preventing future federal costs for rebuilding.

Trump's Claim That Obama Wiretapped His Campaign is False: U.S. Department of Justice

Do you suppose anyone will ask Sarah Huckabee Sanders about this? I would be interested in how she maintains that Trump is not a liar I the face of proof that he is a habitual liar.

On TV I saw the President at a shelter where kids were playing. A cute kid, who looked about 2 1/2 came up to him and he didn't notice. Melania tapped his shoulder and said something into his ear. He picked that kid up. Pictures were taken with phones, probably one was his mother.
The other kid kept playing with toys. Only small children would be more interested in toys than the President of the United States.

The same way she has all along -- deflect and deny. It's been clear since the campaign that he is habitual liar; anyone who has taken a job with his administration, particularly a job as his spokesperson, has essentially admitted to being okay with that (as did all the people who voted for him).

TMB- I will search for that because I've not seen anything (ever) where trump had remorse about anything!

Have y'all seen his comments- I think they may be from his 2nd trip to TX- about It's a beautiful thing & telling them to have a good time as he was leaving? And he autographed a wall. Oh, and told a a guy who just lost his house & everything he owned he was goin to be famous because he was on TV with trump. I don't think any of this was malicious, I do think trump has no ability to empathize with others & therefore has difficulty coming up with appropriate things to say on his own.

He made a statement about the CG rescuing 11,000 people, going into strong winds that the media wasn't willing to go into (unless it was for a good story) So he can't even make a definitive statement of congratulations or thanks to the CG without taking a swipe at the media in a completely idiotic way. He is completely narcissistic.

Outside of Harvey news- Mueller has a letter that trump wrote with s miller's help that stated the reasons he was going to fire Comey. It was read to a room full of people including the VP. The WH lawyer wouldn't let him send it/use it to fire Comey as it would be 'problematic'. So he ended up using Acting AG Rosenstein's letter. But then went on TV and contradicted that theory anyway. But the current thing at issue is that since VP Pence was present & heard the trump/miller letter with all the reasons he wanted Comey fired then went on TV and lied saying 'he was 100% sure trump fired Comey for the reasons in Rosenstein's letter', it makes him party to obstruction. Whew. That's a lot of typing!

If I hear of anything new & exciting, I'll update & know y'all will do the same. Now off to google 'trump remorse'...

I read an article from the Guardian this weekend that talked about the potential case Mueller could be building against Trump for obstruction of justice on several fronts. Very interesting reading.

Yeah, not too impressed by his behavior in TX or Melania's. Did you see her hat in Corpus that read First Lady of United States? Maybe it was so ICE wouldn't mistake her for an illegal immigrant and take her to a detention center. They both don't know how to behave in a disaster situation. How many clothing changes does she need to make while flying into a flood ravaged area? They are both sadly out of touch.

Do you think that Steve Miller wore that UN address?
    It was cringe worthy.

Some of the coverage I've seen has reported that the speech was likely written by Miller. I don't know. What an embarrassment. I can't believe he actually called Kim Jong Un "Rocket Man" in his UN speech.

Interesting conversation about Trump's use of language, Brian Williams on MSNBC interviewing a Columbia linguistics professor:

It's not Trump calling Kim "Rocket Man" that rattled me. It is his insistence that the US will "destroy" North Korea.

Doesn't he realize that the US, and many allies will also be destroyed in the process?

Trump is indeed a very scary person.
