The President Donald Trump Thread - page 120

I thought I would create a thread where we can talk about what he's currently up to. No particular topic but one that's ongoing with what he's doing and saying. I'll start with this speech on... Read More

Margin, there is a comic (I can't recall name) who does a bit about how Trump unleashed all bigots, women-haters, etc. It is a funny bit. He talks about how none of the rest of us realized how hard they had to work to keep their hateful thoughts to themselves. We should have been praising them for their restraint. But now, it is too late to praise them for their hard work of the past. Trump has made it fashionable to be a bigot.

Wish I could think of the comic. It is truly funny.

I realize at this point in time, I should no longer be surprised by the idiotic pronouncements made by Trump, but this one still made me shake my head in amazement. It is from the Washington Post.

BEDMINSTER, N.J. — President Trump said here Thursday that he is “very thankful” to Russian President Vladimir Putin for expelling hundreds of U.S. diplomats from Russia because he said it helps him cut the*U.S. government's payroll.

Addressing for the first time Putin's*decision late last month that the U.S. Embassy and consulates in Russia would have to cut 775 diplomatic and technical staff, Trump told reporters that he sees no reason for them to continue working in Russia

Is Trump really tweeting about General Pershing?
Who is whispering these things into his ear? What media is he consuming? What is Trump reading?

Yes he really did use an urban myth (AGAIN) to support the killing of Muslims as a deterrent to terrorism (which his own secretary of defense has had to talk him out of using because it doesn't actually work). True colors showing.

He is a raving lunatic. He needs a 72 hour psych hold.

He is, he's told the story before, and, as usual, he's wrong. Never happened. Has been repeatedly debunked. PolitiFact rates it as "Pants on Fire."

I met with my Congressman this afternoon at the public library. Each person who signed up for the meeting got a five minute one-to-one with Congressman Andy Barr.

Good thing I can talk fast. I told him that my concerns are healthcare, as in not repealing/replacing Obamacare, White Nationalists, and Trump being unfit for office. I brought up the latter twice. Including when I was walking out the door and stated once again: He's unfit for office and needs to go!

Barr is a conservative Republican, so we have little in common. But since I have e-mailed and called his office multiple times, I felt it was important to shake his hand and introduce myself.

I did engage in a lovely conversation with his two aides. One turned me on to a podcast called Presidential, in which you are quickly introduced to each former President. The other has in-laws who live in Charlottesville area, and we discussed Thomas Jefferson.

Quite a few people attended the event, including a seven-year-old and five-year-old who told me they planned to discuss dinosaurs with the Congressman,

This is from the Washington Post. More from within the Republican party are saying Trump is unfit to lead. They are finally understanding that you can't make a deal with the deal devil and hope to win.

President Trump drew a new and forceful round of criticism Thursday from a leading Republican senator who asserted that Trump has not demonstrated the “stability” or “competence” necessary to effectively lead the country.
Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), who has been one of the most outspoken GOP Trump critics in Congress, expressed displeasure with Trump’s response to the deadly weekend violence in Charlottesville and warned that if the president does not change his behavior, “our nation is going to go through great peril.”
“The president has not yet been able to demonstrate the stability nor some of the competence that he needs to demonstrate in order to be successful,” the senator told reporters in Tennessee. “And we need for him to be successful.”

Aaaaaaand Bannon is out!! Did he quit or was he shown the door? Unfortunately, now he will have lots of time to mold the alt-right into its own political party.

I'm hoping this is the beginning of the "pickle jar" phenomenon. The first one is tough to dislodge, but the rest slide out easily. I'd like to see Steven Miller and Betsy DeVos slide on out.

Actually, I'd like to see Trump "slide out." Trump can fire his entire WH staff and Cabinet, but since HE is the problem, it will do little good.

He has been a lame duck since day one, and shows no signs of improvement. It is all about DJT all the time. That won't change. He needs to go, ASAP!
