IRS head resigns amid scandal, President Obama announces
    By ASSOCIATED PRESS
    Posted May 15, 2013

President Barack Obama on Wednesday announced the resignation of the top official at the Internal Revenue Service following a controversy over the agency's targeting of conservative political groups. ...

... Before announcing the resignation of Acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller, Obama met at the White House with top officials from the Treasury Department, which oversees the IRS. The White House scheduled the meeting a day after the release of an inspector general report that showed ineffective management at the IRS allowed agents to improperly target tea party groups for more than 18 months.

Miller became acting commissioner in November, after Commissioner Douglas Shulman completed his five-year term. Shulman had been appointed by President George W. Bush. ...

[QUOTE=Spidey's mom;7335752]Can we focus on the now and not dig up the past? It reminds me of childhood . . . you get caught doing something wrong and the first thing you say is "But Tommy did it!".

Be honest, Chaney is the one whose memory was taking many back to those dark days that we will be paying for for generations to come. We can not ignore this anymore than you can ignore ex-husbands when one of the results of the marriage is a child.

Chaney could think of nothing worse? How about 9-11? how about blatant lying about WMD. Why sweep it under the rug when he brings it up? If he were accurate, or even close... To conveniently forget that the president was on a month vacation when all of the warnings were given prior to 9-11.

Don't blame people for discussing what happened in the past. Those who forget the past are bound to repeat it. Bush lost 60+ embassy employees. Obama has lost 4. He has learned and has done better.

Benghazi is all about Hillary Clinton in case she dares make a run for President in 2016. None of the people "outraged" about it care two hoots about it. Where were you all complaining about the sixty or so US embassy employees Bush lost? Oh that's right, your media didn't tell you to be outraged about it, so you weren't.

The health care law is a trainwreck because it still involves private insurance.

I dunno, I might investigate people who thought they were Taxed Enough Already going for tax exempt status................however if it was improperly done it was improperly done.

    Who is Chaney?
Sorry- Was not thinking of him more than necessary VP Cheney. Who shot his friend in the face, hid in a bunker for months as he manipulated the former POTUS. Worse actor than Lon Chaney.

Sorry, got the spelling of the monster actors missed up.

This...so out of balance, so obviously a hounding of this black president, but the people engaged in the ridiculously over the top pursuit are blind to it...and their followers equally as blind, hanging on the glimmer of hope that there was some horrible secret and conspiracy to cover up. Where was this same conservative interest in the well being of our diplomats during the Bush administration...you remember, the administration that blatantly lied to the world about WMD.?.

tewdles, why bring color into this? Why is it that if people do not like this man, do not think he is doing a good job, it MUST be because he is black? So when there is a white president, and black people criticize him/her, will THAT be because of color too? Come on, let's leave the straw-man arguments out of this.

    Why not?
It is the ONE thing that makes him different from any other president.
I know, it makes some people uncomfortable, why?
He is being treated about as badly as any POTUS in American history has been treated, ever...from shouting liar at him during a SOTU to making caricatures of him as an ape (a common representation of blacks in racism). New and amazing ways to disrespect the POTUS have been discovered and paraded on our streets, in the press, and in people's personal lives.

If the fact that one of the two political parties in this great nation has vowed to make him a failure, even if that means that the country is harmed, is directed at the first black president... is that remarkable? The first time for both things...agendas of obstruction and failure and a black president. I mean, seriously, when did Republicans say anything like that about Clinton or any previous Democratic POTUS?

Perhaps it is all coincidence Perhaps not.
It is interesting that if the POTUS race is even mentioned (not as an accusation but just a statement of fact) people are angry, offended, and defensive.
