Did any of you actually listen to his speech or read it? Not anywhere in his speech does it say anything about reducing Dr.'s or nurses wages. I can't believe how so many people here in Arizona don't actually listen to what President Obama says and automatically go against any plan he has to try to pull this country out of the mess that Bush got us into. Before jumping on the band wagon of misguided conservatives, please actually read what President Obama plans to do.
While I agree with you over all, I think you may have missed the part about reforming the way doctors and hospitals are compensated. Paying for over all treatment instead of being paid for each treatment.
It's the domino effect and while I think his thought process and ideas are great and much needed. Reforming the way doctors and hospitals are compensated will eventually mean reforming the way nurses are compensated. It's simple business. If a hospital makes less money, they're going to pay a doctor less money, and nurses and so on down the line.
I honestly think financial reform as a whole is great and will get us one step closer to where we need to be. However, if you're going to start taking control of major american icon companies, bailing out wall street, then start looking for ways to "reform and regulate" there's lots of other places they can reform and regulate as well.
Unfortunately, I think a salary cut is a necessary evil to better the system. But then again maybe I'm just the naive nursing student who thinks quality patient care is worth more than a few extra bucks in my paycheck. :wink2:
