    WEll if we truely are it is time to shut off CNN and do some research our selves. With the recent gun laws on the tables that strip us of freedoms there may be a time in the very soon future where nurses need to step up. I see things getting very ugly. I hope we all can leave the comfort of our homes and families for greater causes. For the future. It has been done in the past by fellow americans. Lets please do something. What exactly i dont know. But if you say the recent tax increases and gun laws are in best interest for the people it just isnt true. But if you watch mainstream media everyday it is easy to think so. The myians predictions were right after all. the world will end after 2012, and its spirialing down really fast. Albert Einstien "World war 3 will be faught with sticks and stones" and thats not cause we will nuc ourselves and have to restart society. It is cause our own gov will strip us defenseless and we will be left throwing rocks at their front lines of drones and tanks. I m sure you ve all learned how effective voting really is and what difference it doesnt make.

    Not quite sure what this has to do with nurse as advocate. This sounds more like a political rant. You will find nurses of every political persuasion, from the far right to the center to the far left. Nurses are not a homogenous group.

    Nurses are highly respected. We stick up for people in all kinds of settings. Things are getting heated. Impeachments and civil wars are POSSIBLE. I m not saying either will happen. I just hope that nurses out there will continue or are making the right choices.

    I think you're overestimating the influence nurses have on society.

    Could you elaborate? What can nurses "step up" to in order to advocate for "the people"?

    As this has nothing to do with nursing and the nursing profession other than a large body of voters....per se.....moved to breakroom US politics. You can access the breakroom by logging in with the same password that you log into the AN side.

    well for one stop talking about who is going to marry who and how beautiful so and so's wedding was and actually pay two cents of mind to your psych patients. I know the latest drama on facebook and the speech joe said at the wedding was embarassing. But there are psych patients out there in the lobby who you dont give 2 ***** about. The spoon doesnt make you fat the gun doesnt kill people . If you were smart enough to make it through nursing school you should be smart enough to figure out how nurses are related to this issue. But here i go assuming things
