I only know who Toby Keith is because he used to come to Kentucky for the horse sales. I have no idea whether or not he still frequents the sales. And of course, I know him as the guy who attacked the Dixie Chicks for exercising their free speech rights.

Has he done anything since then?
He must have been doing something. On Forbes top earning musicians of 2016, he is number 22. Above Katy Perry and Elton John and just behind the Foo Fighters. On the Celebrity Top 100, he is in the upper half.

And this is from a few years ago:
    Forbes Welcome

He has been known to support democrats in the past, and said he thought Obama would be a good choice for President.

The Dixie Chicks feud was a mutual thing, and I believe it started over them attacking one of his songs.

He (or his corporate entity)owns a bar in my town. It's known for "producing" the most DUIs of any bar in the state. Things tend to get rowdy there. The local police hate the place.

I have always loved Toby Keith. I'm a country music fan but more on the older end of country music as I grew up on that and rock and roll. I don't limit myself to one genre of music though.

I am watching The Trump Inaugural Concert . . . it is the fireworks show now. Really lovely choir singing "Glory Glory Hallelujah".

I was watching and sewing....When those Piano Guys started doing whatever it was with the piano I had to stop sewing, and then I turned on the DVR so that I can go back and watch it again. I thought the music was all great........ The Military band at the end had me on my feet, directing. Those piccolos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never said he wasn't entitled to his free speech rights. But he seemed mighty intent on shutting up the Dixie Chicks.

Maybe somebody remembers what the argument was about. I thought it was because of comments made by Natalie Manes when George W. Bush invaded Iraq.

But someone posted they thought the Chicks attacked one of his songs. So, I'm not really sure. But I think it was the Iraq war comments.

Either way, I'm clearly not a fan of Toby Keith. What a surprise that he ranks so high on the Forbes list.
