I am not much of a Tweeter, but I do check Twitter every morning to see the next outlandish thing the PEOTUS has posted. I love the one about buying and hiring American, and the replies about his and Ivanka's clothing manufacturing. And how Mar-a-Lago and the Trump wine company hire noncitizen workers.

I was dismayed but not surprised by the PEOTUS's New Year's tweet, wishing everyone, including "his enemies ... who lost so badly".
But then I read that this is his typical message on New Year's Eve.

Trump tweets: Happy new year to my enemies who ‘lost so badly’ | TheHill

More and more, I am convinced he has the mind set of a fourth grade bully, like the character in that Christmas movie, "A Christmas Story."

I keep thinking he is just going to up and quit and take his ball home. Especially when congress won't give him any money.

On a related note, there was a thread on the yellow side that devolved into a rant about DJT's immigration plans. I don't think there is going to be any wall nor any mass deportation, unless there is money to be made.

He's still trying to pretend that a nearly 3 million plurality in the popular vote = losing badly. He wouldn't be harping on it so constantly if it didn't scare him.

As for that thread on the yellow side - it was intended as a neocon set-piece. It was nipped pretty much in the bud (thanks, admins) when they tried to escalate it into nativist rabble-rousing. Seems to be somewhat of a pattern developing when certain issues are about to become a "thing" like immigration or the ACA.

The pattern: a thread is started by a new member or a member with little previous posting history. The OP is phrased ostensibly to explore the healthcare or nursing implications of certain political developments. The initial discussion starts out pretty rational but, as people start challenging neocon non-facts, the condescending flame wars start, more newly-registered members chime in precisely to repeat fake news memes over and over, others try to challenge those memes and we're off to the races.

It's a win-win strategy for neocons - either their propaganda goes unchallenged or the discussion gets shut down, making sure that people who honestly disagree never have a chance to hear the other side and perhaps find common ground.

We fall for it every time. We're going to see a lot more of it, too.

As long as it goes through the proper immigration road I am sure everyone is fine with it .

The nursing industry is made up of a high number of non US Citizens working here legally.

I understand why industry employs non-citizens; often it is to find workers who are either more qualified, or they are willing to put up with unpleasant work environments, such as field work or the restaurant industry. Or, as in your example, health care that expects 12+ hour shifts in abusive settings.

I just find it ironic that using H-1B visa workers is great for DJT, while he exhorts the rest of the country to only employ US citizens.

I see that Trump is taking to Twitter to attack the US intelligence community--doubting that they found any evidence of hacking at all, and taking Julian Assange's word over then.

What is this going to lead to? Will experienced intelligence agents just resign in disgust? Can DJT even be trusted with secret information? I hope they set him up and he "reveals" something ridiculous.

And now he is going to reorganize, possibly downsize the CIA! On my phone, so hard to put a link, but I found an article from the Wall Street Journal.

    Ordered by Putin?

I don't think so ... it's consistent with Republican governance: if something proves a threat to power, change the rules (voter suppression, North Carolina's last-minute restructuring) suppress the information (anything to do with climate change), prohibit opposing speech (laws against considering climate change in planning), terrorize opposing speakers (calls for lists of people working on climate change, womens' issues and terrorism) and hobble or eliminate the watchdogs (all of Trump's regulatory appointments).

I think it's pretty much home grown.
