Hey guys! Like many of you, I am an avid animal lover. I currently have two cats (a Maine Coon mix and Ragdoll) and several freshwater fish. However, I have owned dogs and horses in the past.
Recently, my aunt got me hooked on the idea of getting a bird. After doing a LOT of research, I have finally decided to get an Congo African Grey parrot. Their intelligence really appeals to me, as well as the lifelong companionship (they have quite a substantial lifespan). I have already found my girl (well, I'm just making the assumption that she is a girl), and should be able to bring her home in a week or so now (she is still being weaned).
I would really like to know if there are any other bird owners (especially parrots) out there in the nursing realm who may have words of wisdom about how owning a bird fits in with their nursing lifestyle.
