My kitty is not in good shape. At 11 years old, she is a geriatric patient. After a recent appointment at Cat Hospital I had an appointment at the Opthalmology department of the Veterinary Referral Center of North Dallas (an impressive, multi-story hospital for pets!). A few doctors examined my cat, including a couple visiting doctors from Japan.

The outcome is that the main doctor told me she has lost her right eyesight. She might lose the other eye in a year or two. The doctor suggested another test and possible surgery, but I don't think it is a good idea. The situation seems hopeless. I could end up spending $1,000 or more for nothing.

Meanwhile, the loss of her eyesight sure has not affected her mood or abilities. She's sitting on the back of my chair as I type this post.

Well, housebreaking is going...ahhhh...consistently. Fattie is sleeping through the night and has made it through the entire work day without crapping in his crate. Today was Fattie's first freedom test; he was allowed to stay in his larger, more cushier crate the whole day (versus the small, paper lined one. It's easier to clean). So when I get home we'll find out. He's also getting quite big. But don't worry, we have tons of pics, we just need to develop them. He also got his first exposure to Bitter Apple. He foamed at the mouth - poor thing! But it works!

I am also a job searcher, as I'm not content in my new job here. I applied for a CNS job with my old L&D unit in a brand new building. I would LOVE the job, it's everything I am in school for. I am obsessing about it. Either that, or I may return to the clinic.

School is going ok this semester. I'll be done with all major projects before Thanksgiving. Then I'll have an actual month off, which will be the first break from school since LAST January.

How's everyone else? Sunny, what's the story with the court thing and puppy killer thing? Did I miss something?

I may have some news this time next month, don't want to jinx it so I'll leave it as that.

Emma is doing great, having some "I like to play Miss Social Butterfly" at school issues, but otherwise doing fine.

Apollo (my 13 year old Rottie) is hanging in there. His whole chin and undercoat is completely grey. His arthritis isn't too bad, but he is slowing down a bit. He forgot and chased a cat as if he were a puppy a couple days ago so he's a little stiff.

My step daughter's pop Warner cheerleading team made it to regional competition. It is amazing to see how far these girls have come.

    WHAT? You tease! No fair!

As for me and my house, I am no farther than I was before. The realtor is on vacation until the middle of this week. I expect once she gets back things will start moving along.

The bathroom is first on our list! I do have a beautiful ceramic tile picked out! I already love the paper we have in there, but I'm looking for a new border. Toilet, sick, vanity...... I can't wait! Hubby figures he'll be able to make a long weekend out of it. Looks like we'll be using the gas station potty for a few days!

The waste of carbon atoms that killed the Late Great Little Miss DaisyMae Pupper Dog took us to court for damages to his truck.
He doesn't have collision, and our homeowners denied the claim as they found us to be not legally liable. they will pay out if we lose incourt, however.

    JESUS F......CHRIST!

Sunny, I knew your Daisy Mae died because I read the threads on Halle, but I had no idea the redneck was filing a claim on YOU! I can't even begin to describe what my husband would do to this puppy-killer more concerned about his damn TRUCK....

Eye for an eye...that's his motto. We've pulled many a valve stem for lesser reasons.

My 11yo black lab broke her back R rear leg. She slipped and fell on our kitchen floor. She has a bright pink cast on which goes well with her black coat. We have mismatched rugs now as pathways all over the kitchen so she won't fall again.
Oh what we won't do for our babies.

Hope everyone that was sick is better.
Hope all the preggers are doing well.
Hope everyone finds the job of their dreams
Hope everyone's kids are safe, healthy and being good
Hope Fattie learns to pee and poop where mom & dad want him to
Hope all the sick and injures pets get well soon
Glad Heather found tile that she likes and hope things get moving for her soon.
Hope these things all come true!

Poor baby! I hope she feels better soon!

One of my mom's dogs went sliding into the kitchen too quickly and hurt his paw under the corner of the stove. Nothing bad, but he tip toes very carefully through the kitchen now, and won't come within a few feet of the stove!

Well, I'm doing great overall..........3 more days until I fly to Miami to leave for my vacation.........eh, CEU conference...oops. I have LOTS of stuff to do to get ready (laundry, packing, shopping, etc.).....and I work 4 10hr days this week as usual, so I'll be pretty tired by the time I leave...............but I'm pretty sure I won't be getting any sympathy!!

Preggo is going well..........I'll be 16 weeks on Friday, already into maternity clothes, just b/c my regular pants don't fit anymore. Felt baby move a couple of times, but of course only on the inside.......I'll be glad when hubby can share in the experience.

My cat Lucy is doing very well.......although acting a bit odd lately, tearing around the house at warp speed................probably just feeling a little neglected.
