    So funny that you should post this-I just found out that we also have internet on our computers at work, wonder how long it will last here. Keep us informed!!!!!
    We've always had it at work. However, certain people have been appointed the job of undercover detective to report us if we're caught surfing......

    Dude, I hate narcs.

    We have internet at work, too... I rarely surf, though. Unless I'm *really* bored.

    ERNurse752, We have internet and everyone had to sign a paper saying basically they were to use it strictly for work related business. Naturally people were going to abuse it. They got caught, were written up and they deserved it. One person I worked with would be online from the time she came on duty until 5am playing games until they blocked all the game sites. Yes they do have the internet patrol and they do keep tabs on you when you go on the net and how long you're on, so be careful what you surf and be very careful on what you post. Also when you're finished it's really important to logoff completely because anyone can go surfing under your name. In the begining, I forgot to log off and the next day I found out after hitting the address menu arrow thingy and all these gambling sites came up I almost died. I didn't get into trouble, but it taught me to log off ... :imbar INCLUDING AT HOME :imbar as soon as I'm finished. :imbar
    It should last for a long, long time because those who abuse it will be disciplined I'm sure. It's there for your benefit, not for your entertainment as I'm sure you already know. But, I manage to go on allnurses at times when it's really quiet during the night. I've gone on google, different sites about products we use, looking up disease conditions etc and someone comes along once a week and deletes all the addresses on the menu bar EXCEPT for

    Computer access can be very helpful on the job. And it can even be used to do job-related education. Like at Heather's we do have an appointed IS person who monitors our traffic pretty closely, so nothing "inappropriate" is done. It works fine for us. Usually, shifts are too busy to do much w/the internet at work anyhow.

    Our IT guy was telling us about the censor programme installation, and what fun they had allocating points to different words. Go over a certain total and your email gets yanked, and your manager wants to see you in the morning! His punchline was brilliant;
    "So on our system, you get two ****s for every ****"!
    No, I'm not going to clarify!

    We've had computers at work for a number of years; USED to have internet access for all monitors but that was abused by a few; so now the only internet access is at the main desk. A few people ruined it for everyone........

    I find that a carefully placed (on the counter next to the 'puter?)box of D-Con generally keeps the 'rats' away from me.
