year end reflections and hopes for 2003

  1. in keeping with the traditions of reflecting back on the past year it struck me that this year was one of great happiness, trying times, conflict, happy and sad tears, obstacles to overcome, personal failures and personal victories, and growth of friendships for all of us.....
when I reflect upon the last year personally so many things come to mind, pursuing the decision to go back to school, dealing with some health issues, the break up of a relationship and the development of great friendships to name a few.
This time last year I was a lurker on this bulletin board, Would post on occasion but not to any great length, boy, its amazing what a year can do! I want to thank you all, for being a great support network, providing a smile and a hug when I've needed it , giving excellent thoughtful nursing and personal advice, opening my mind to new ideas and opinions, being able to argue without anger, helping me through my failures and taking joy in my successes, just as I have with many of you.
It has meant a lot to me to be a part of this, I'm hoping that 2003 is a great year for everyone and that there are significantly less burdens for our allnurses family to go through and that everyone gets a nice big dose of happiness!
its an amazing feeling to know that you are understood and cared for even if you are miles away from the people you interact with.
we have really bridged some major distances and I hope we continue to do so.
this sounds like a long oscar or grammy acceptance speech , and just as schmultzy, but I think about some of the things we have gone through together and realize that friendship has so many forms and plays such an important role in everyones life.
so cheers to all of you, give yourselves a pat on the back for being some of the greatest nurses, not to mention most wonderful people on earth!!!!!
    :kiss

Nice post Wendy. 2002 was a horribly hard year for raising my five kids. Each year gets harder. They are 22, 20, 19, 18 and 14. I am whipped. I hope next year is better.

Thanks for all your support my on line friends. I will graduate with my MS in the first qtr of 2003 and start learning spanish. Those are my goals.

I have NO poetic words to offer......no nice things whatesoever to say about 2002. As far as I am concerned, I wish to bury 2002 as deep in my memory recesses as I can humanly do. I need not get into it here.....some of you know my story anywho......it suffices to say it is my worst year in recent memory (say, 20 years). So let us raise a glass to 2003...may it be WONDERFUL for all who dwell here!

I joined allnurses and made some new and interesting friends. Changed jobs, more or less for the better......no real complaints. My plans for 2003 are to continue to excel at my job, and to see my honey as often as possable and maybe even get to be a Canadian citizen by proxy! And of course ... con't to get to know my all nurse buddies better! (Better buddies? Butter betties?)

Wendy what a sappy post. Have you been drinking. LOL

Not much went on in my life last year. Which may or may not be a problem. Just kind of stayed where I was at, without much growth or challenge.

I do hope for a better me in 2003, but right now I'm the best me there is.

was it the hiccups? the slurred typing or the giggling for no reason that gave away the fact I was tipsy when I wrote that?

I don't want to reflect on 2002. It was a horrible year for me and my family. I just want to move on and hope that 2003 will be better.

Well 2002 was an interesting year for me. I got involved with a couple of nursing bulletin boards and picked Allnurses as the one to stay with. I've met some really nice people and made some good friends here.

    I got a new grandchild (on Wendy's birthday )

We sent our oldest son to the wilds of Brazil. It'll be nice to see him again in 2004, and I look forward to the e-mails and letters that we get from him.

I'm sorry that 2002 was so bad for some of you. I sincerely hope that 2003 is better.

I'm not much for flowery words either. I just keep plugging away.

I can't wait for this year to be over. 2002 has sucked like a Hoover, with no relief in sight. Let's see, Ma was hospitaized 6 times with varoius serious things, I had a nervous breakdown, and currently working on my 2nd, My dad died unexpectedly, and my mom broke her hip and is now at Orchard Villa nursing home where I now work. However there were a few bright spots. I graduated from nursing school, and have a good job. I forgave my dad for the past, and ost importantly, I met the sweetest, best most devoted friend I have ever had. I think you all know who I mean!!! I know she certainly does. And I got to meet so many special and important people that make a major difference not only in their patient's lives, but in my life every day. I love all of my allnuses sibs, and HERE'S TO 2003!!!!!!! Your friend and Harley mama wannabe, Warrior Woman.
