Wrapping presents stinks!

  1. I HATE wrapping presents!!! I really really hate it!!! How the heck do you all wrap all that weird shaped stuff??? I mean I know I could go out and find square boxes to put the things in and then wrap those, but that is an additional PIA!!! WHy do they make, especially kids toys, so hard to wrap in their weird shaped bubble package things! I have never been good at it and probably never will be.... I wish I were one of those ppl that are really great at wrapping.. you know the ones... you get the gifts that you hate to unwrap because they look so great? Oh well, I just got done with an hours worth of wrapping, and I am very unhappy with the end result! :imbar

Anyone have any suggestions? If not, just vent a little like I did!

Send them to me!!!!! I hate the shopping but love the wrapping, I know, Im a freak. I do the whole bows, ribbons, colour co-ordinated tape thing.
I even wrap up the presents that I put into those gift bags, you know the ones that everyone else buys to save them wrapping.
Unfortunately Im in Scotland so I guess Im tooo far away to wrap for you, oh well, cant say the thought wasnt there..
    Good luck with your wrappping,
    Merry Christmas,

Yes, you ARE a freak!!! lol, j/k.... I wish I had the imagination and creativity to wrap like you do!!! I bet all your "gift-receivers" Love your gifts!!!
Normally I love to wrap, but I'm just not in the mood this year for sme reason.

Of course, it hasn't curbed my wrapping paper purchasing addiction.

Get a Christmas job in a department store at the wrapping desk ... in about two hours after wrapping about 25 presents - you'll have it down pat.

I worked part time in customer service that was also the wrapping center for the store - I learned very quickly how to wrap, judge how much paper I needed, and pop those ribbons and bows on the package.

Clear off the biggest flat space you have (dining room table). Have all supplies right there. I like the big desk top tape dispensers - where you can grab tape without having to pick up the dispenser. Don't cut the paper too big (or too small) cause it's hard to work with. For the funky packages .... I figure my son really doesn't care ... so I'll put it top side down on the paper and pull the paper around it and tape the two sides and bottom. So it looks like a big lump.

One year I did do the really pretty wrap - I used foil paper, bought a roll of the fancy ribbon, and bought this pointsetta wreath that I broke down into the individual flowers and hot glued them onto the package. - I had way too much free time -

Most of my ''gift recievers'' think Im crazy!
I always use thick wrapping paper and ribbons so you almost have to cut your way into the gifts and it drives them nuts.
They all think i do it intentionally to stop them taking a peek at their gifts through convieniently torn wrapping paper, hey, maybe I do...
Anyway Im off to 'ribbon & bow' my last set of gifts,
    Happy wrapping everyone,

My gift wrapping consisted of sitting in the middle of my bedroom floor with 2 different papers, scissors, and one roll of cheap tape... then my son gets to put bows on the gifts. I never buy ribbon... I dont know why, I guess I just never think of it. Maybe next year I will get into the wrapping a little more, because I am really unhappy with my wrapping this year. I just havent had enough spare time to get into it much.

I like wrapping. It's fun. Especially when you get to put them all out under the tree.

I LOVE wrapping gifts, although I don't get into the matching paper to the nametag and the bows and tape. I just buy a few rolls of paper, tape, and a big bag of bows. My only complaint is that I am so broke that I don't have very many gifts to wrap this year.

Well, nursing school is over for a while and I start a new job as an LPN in 3 weeks, so next christmas is gonna ROCK!!!!

i think my best wrapping job was the frying pan i wrapped for my dad last year....it looked exactly like a blue snowman covered frying pan.....he had no idea what it was......

:roll AHH!! I'm finally done! (I think). I ran out of bows, but other than that, the presents are done! Next year I will have to think of some way to wrap that I dont get all flustered! Actually, this year I DID buy a few of those pre-wrapped presents from walmart and just stick bows on them. I think next year I will just spend the extra money and buy a bunch of the sacks!

LOL, well you could try my son's way, he uses aluminum foil, it conforms to everything, then he decorates with bows!

hey! thats a great idea!!! I'll have to remember that! except I'll bet it tears really easily....
