Workout Routine?

  1. What's you favorite diet or workout routine?? Nurses do we take care of ourselves, do we pamper ourselves sometimes? We deserve it you know. Ever been to a body spa or had a professional facial or pedicure I have a gym membership but can't go as often as i would like

    Nope, never had that kind of pampering. I finally got myself a Y membership last spring and have stuck to my exercise routine. I did have to cut back to 2 days a week instead of 3 when I went to working days but that seems to be adequate for maintenance. I do the nautilus circuit and then 30 minutes on the Precor (elliptical trainer). I love it. I haven't felt this good about my body in 20 years. (which is when I had the last Y membership!)

    I have never been on a regimented "diet". I know I would never stick to one. Try to make more sensible choices instead. My favorite low-fat lunch on the run--microwave a dish of frozen veggies and cut up a couple slices of low-fat turkey, chicken, or ham and mix it in, add some mustard or salsa and I'm good to go for a couple hours.

    Hey working full time, managing a household with a 13 year old, husband in a very busy job, big family, who needs a work out!!

    Relaxing, YES!!
    Got a beautyfarm-weekend-voucher for my 40 th birhtday, now, that is something else!! that would be good for every month!

    I do Tae Bo at least 4 times per week. I love it! Keeps me toned up, and when I do slack for a period of time, I can ususally catch up after doing it for a straight week. I also use hand weights and do crunches. If I don't feel like doing my workout, I try to at least use the stairs as often as possible and take the dog for a long walk. I feel much better physically and mentally when I stay on a regular program of exercise.
