Wish me luck!

  1. Well, I did it. I've crossed over to the other side. Another one bites the dust...

I bid on a new position at work. 12's. Blegh! Oh well, I know it's the best thing. Sitter wise, holiday wise, etc. I work 48 per pay now, and I'll work the same if I get it, just 12's instead of 8's.

So keep your fingers crossed for me!

You're young enough that 12's should be a breeze for you, once you get accustomed to them. In no time at all, you'll wonder why you haven't always done them.

Working 12 hours lets you. ..

get more done on the job.
    work fewer days per year.
have more weekends to spend w/ family.
    improves morale on the job.
reduces wear and tear on your vehicle.

I think you will like the 12's, too. You'll get to spend entire days with your family instead of a few harried hours before or after work. It also means longer vacations without using so much earned time. Once you switch, you will never want to go back to working nearly every day like you are now!

Oh, and good luck...(I, too, know the jobs is yours.)
