    Who is "Willbanks"?

    Who is "Willbanks"?
The bride to be from Georgia who disappeared on a jog, thought she was kidnapped/murdered, etc. Turns out she had cold feet about her wedding and took off. Was found in new mexico.

Personally, I dont think her being a nurse has anything to do with it

She's the 'runaway bride' from Georgia who evidently got cold feet and disappeared a few days before her wedding, made up a story that she'd been kidnapped, then 'fessed up when she got home.

I'm glad she's safe, but if she were my family member I'd want to throttle her for worrying everyone so........ :angryfire So many women disappear and are never found, or are found dead, and this gal just up and took off without warning, so naturally people feared the worst.......then she turned up in New Mexico, somewhat the worse for wear but otherwise OK, thank God. She's got a lot to answer for, though. :stone

Okayyyyy....a "Julia Roberts 'Runaway Bride' moment", eh.

I agree.......being a nurse had nothing to do with that decision. She probably just wised up as I see it. Good for her. :hatparty:

Well.....on the serious side........she ought to be spanked for having fooled her family like that, and caused them great worry I'm sure. If she were my daughter, I'd give her a good whoopin' with the broomstick. Shame on her!!!

Still don't blame her for wising up and not getting married though. She obviously isn't ready for holy matrimony, and should steer clear of it until she is ready and not pressured to do so.

Yup, I agree with ya'll that her being a nurse had nothing to do with it, but.....the newsman, had to put it into his story. Kinda makes us look a little flakey,no? :stone

What a stupid thing to do...leave your family and fiance worrying about you telling them your KIDNAPPED!!!!!!!! How stupid can you be!:angryfire

She should be held accountable for all the money that was spent searching for her stupid a**! I'm sorry, this kind of stuff makes me sooooo mad!!!!:angryfire

What in the world does her being a nurse have to do with anything?

Maybe the media is trying to make us look more stupid than they already have portrayed us in their articles and t.v. shows. Nurses should write letters to that newspaper about insinuating nurses do stupid things. :stone

I think that would be over-reacting. The profession of nursing is not being targeted in this news piece. It's not uncommon for news media to mention race, occupation, or other descriptive (and irrelevant) tidbits about subjects in a story.

I don't understand why the extraneous information was given, but I certainly didn't feel offended when they mentioned her being a nurse.

Anytime you decide to have *14* sets of bridemaids/groomsmen, you're just setting yourself up to not be able to back out. As always, I vote for the Justice of the Peace or Vegas .

Seriously, glad she's OK. Sorry she didn't have any better coping mechanism than that. Apparently she wasn't strong enough to call off a shindig of this magnitude.

I was actually going to post this. I am glad that she just ran away instead of being kidnapped... this is the best outcome that could have happened. I'm glad she's not in a ditch somewhere!! I am sure that her family is very relieved... you could just see the pain her in Dad's eyes last night on TV. That being said...

Nurses are supposed to be of high morale (sp?) character. Basically, she lied. She should have just called home when she started to see herself on the news and told them to call it off... she'd be home in a few days. She shouldn't have lied about this... there were people out in the middle of the night for long periods of time looking for her in the woods and putting themselves in danger.

It really bothers me. I wonder if she has had problems lying to avoid her problems before?

I wonder if she'll get to keep her license?

On another note, from what I have heard about the finance he is a really nice guy and he's been dealing with this well. I feel for him.
