Why is good help so hard to get?

  1. We have an appointment with the cable guy because spouse wants to go wireless and get digital recording. They are to come between 10:00 and 12:00 today and it's now 3pm and no one.

Had a guy coming to look at the house and help us order appropriate lighting. No show.

Don't try building a pool around here. Several friends have done it and it's been a total nightmare.

As I get thrown on this blasted customer service committee at work and listen to customer service lectures ad naseum I want to scream "WHAT ABOUT ME!".

Anyone else having problems like this where you are or is it just here because we're so densely populated and the competition for services is fierce and we put up with it.

Oh don't even get me started Tweety!!! Our lawyer's office (not even a lawyer just someone in the office) was supposed to call one day at 12:30 and they never bothered. This was after they were supposed to call at 10 am a couple days before that and didn't call.

There were roofers putting a new roof on the house we live in. They started in October and swore it would be done before winter. Well......this spring, they were still doing it. They finally finished at the beginning of May and then wanted the full amount owed them even though there were leaks all over in the upstairs apartment because the roof was not done! It's unbelievable around here.

dh got a job putting in two kitchens because he quoted $1,000 lower than all the others around here. He was giving a very reasonable estimate so you can imagine how others are ripping people off!

I actually had a serviceperson tell me to go to hell once when I got too demanding ( I just wanted a problem addressed and was being stonewalled at every turn). Yes you better believe I elevated the complaint. I understand this person does not work there anymore. Unreal how rude folks are....I try always to treat others like I want to be.....so much for that!

Because ppl will put up with it. If someone gives me bad service I go some where else, if the waitress is rude I dont tip, and I don't return, if the plumber is taking longer than he said he would, I pay him for any work done and hire someone else. People will put up with so much it amazes me. Also places that give good customer service will loyally get my business and recomendation, and if I was treated bdly I let everyone know about it and tell the business/person that I intend to spread it through word of mouth. If everyone would do the same the problem would resolve itself.

Oh, Tweety, it's everywhere, all the time.

I called our cable company customer service department because our internet was out. The woman (customer service rep, mind you) said "So? It's not like your life depends on it." I said true, but her job sure depended on it. I wrote a nice long letter to several people from her supervisor on up.

Sales people in department stores. They sit on the phone during what is very obviously a personal call then get mad when you ask for help. In those cases I just now take my stuff over to the customer service department and tell them they have a clerk who does not want to take my money.

Had a painter never show up. I sent a sympaty card with an attached note that said "I'm sorry for your loss. I had an appointment with you and since you never showed, I figured the only good reason you'd want to turn away current and future business like that is because you or someone close has died."

However, I have to say I have the best auto mechanic in the world, a terrific hairdresser, a great plumber, a wonderful handyman, and a new painter.

You don't want to get me started. I move fairly often and every time I am screwed with by various people (movers, cable, post office workers, telephone, rental agents etc). I swear, I block it out every year or 2 and think moving is a good idea and then go through it all over again. I must have Alzheimers....

Our regular mail carrier works 6 days one week and 3 days the next week. The weeks that she only works 3 days are "interesting" to say the least. Last Christmas, we got three boxes of presents that didn't belong to us. I also got an order of someone else's check. She also once crammed a box that didn't fit into my mailbox into my mailbox. We had to disassemble the **** thing just to get it out. Some days no mail comes. I realize that there could be days we actually didn't have any mail, but its awfully coincidental that it always happens when the regular person is off and the replacement if on, and it seems mighty strange that we don't even get junk mail on those days.

arrgghh . .DISH Network (long story).

My washing machine still leaks after being "fixed".

Internet DSL costs $50 a month up here in the mountains!!!!!! We are held hostage to the fact that no other company has come up here due to low population and no perceived benefit to the companies. arrggghh again.

And our accountant says that with my husband buying a new logging truck . . . . . we will be taxed at the 50 % rate! :angryfire Like we were wealthy or something. Ok, you try to better yourself and you get punished by the government.

ok, I'm stopping cause I'm getting mad.

    50% tax rate? That's robbery.

So the cable guy came and we're set up with the Digital Video Recorder, but the wireless cable networking between the computer and spouses laptop is going to be done by someone else, who didn't show because they made a mistake. Sigh....There is only one cable company we can use, so I guess we have to reschedule and put up with it if we need it.

I just got my internet up and working. Good thing too, cause the week and a half without allnurses had me stressing

Yeah Tweeters....we have the big choice of ONE cable company too and they stink!!!!! Their rates are high, the customer service is awful and they give you no leeway in paying your bills. If it's a week late, shut off and then they charge mega bucks to turn it back on. They actually accused me of not sending a check when I had sent it two days earlier, shut us off and then turned us back on (with a fee) when they received the check LATER THAT SAME DAY!!!! We tried to get a dish because we really liked DirecTV when we had it but they can't get a signal here due to the trees in the back yard.
